Crush-claw!!

We’ve talked about smashing, we’ve talked about spearing, and now we talk about crushing.

The claws of the unfortunately-named edible crab (Cancer pagurus) are specialized in crushing slow, hard-shelled prey such as snails. What these claws lack in speed, they make up for in power.

The anatomical design of edible crabs’ claws allow them to apply greater crushing forces than other crab species that are less-specialized in handling hard-shelled prey. Their claws have large, blunt molars that concentrate crushing force onto a specific region of the prey’s shell, making cracking shells easier.

Also, these crabs can employ different methods in destroying their prey’s shell. If the prey is too large to fit between its claws, the edible crab may resort to ‘peeling’, where it holds the snail with one claw and uses the other to chip away at the shell little by little. But if the prey is small enough to fit between its claws, then…well…CRUSH.

Yoruldum taleyin oyunlarindan.
Acilan sabaha umidim yoxdur
Yashamaq istedim,amma surundum
Daha dizlerimin de taqeti yoxdur.

Ne gozumde nur var,ne qolumda guc
Qocalan urek de soze baxmayir
Urekde siZladim,daim agladim
Daha gozlerimden de yashlar axmayir.

Heyat bashdanbasha bir tamashadir
Sehnede xoshbexti oynayiram men
Saxta gulushlerle sevinc bexsh edib.
Sehne arxasinda aglayiram men..
