Tethered, the droid waited. Pumps gurgled and throbbed, systems hissed and bubbled. Slowly, it felt itself replenished. Soon, it would be ready for war.
Pencil sketch in my Moleskine, inspired by a passage in the Norman Mailer book about the moon landings, A Fire on the Moon, about the Saturn V rocket - “…umbilical cords of every thickness and sinuosity, snakes of and cables and ropes and constrictors thick as tree trunks passed in a cluster from swing-arms and walkways…”.
I read that on the train this morning and immediately had to get my sketchbook out and start drawing. I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Well, that’s it. The last droid. 365 days, 365 drawing of robots, droids, mechs, cyborgs, drones, probes. The end. (Almost)
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has followed me over the past year here on Tumblr, I really couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks for all the likes and reblogs, and a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the lovely comments.
