My dear baby Vuk,

You are 37 weeks and 2 days old today! We are going to meet very soon.

You are going to be an American (first generation on my side) with a very colorful ancestral background…Romanian, Serbian, Polish, and Irish! Most of all, you’re going to be a New Yorker! A real New Yorker.

New York City is my home, but I also have an old country that you will get to visit someday. My parents, your grandparents live there. It’s a beautiful place with passionate people, and rich history.

Here is one of my favorite songs by an artist called Djordje Balasevic. It’s called “Stari Laloski Vals” and it’s about the region where I was born - Vojvodina. I hope you like it!

During my pregnancy I’d play The Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss II and you always kicked and moved around for the duration of the song. You already have good, sophisticated taste in music.

Volim te!
