SERIES A: GAME CRAFT
MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS
TEACHING ARTISTS: KAHO ABE & RAMSEY NASSER

Teens explore, develop, and create their own gaming experiences involving digital and wearable gaming.  Teenagers learn the concepts and theories behind game design as well as the technical skills and tools needed to create their own games — coding their games with Unity3D software and using the Arduino development platform to make their own game controller.  Students are encouraged to utilize open-source hardware and taught to engage with those maker communities in a safe way.

Ramsey Nasser is a computer scientist investigating programming languages as mediums of self-expression.  He is a former Eyebeam Fellow and teaches at Pratt. His work includes software and game design. Ramsey’s work has been featured on NPR and at the Game Developers Conference.

Kaho Abe is an Eyebeam Fellow and Artist in Residence at NYU-Poly’s Game Innovation Lab, where she researches and builds digital games played in the physical world. Kaho’s work focuses on improving social and personal experiences through the use of technology, fashion and games.

Last night, the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) & Empire Drive-In hosted a Youth Media Night.  They presented the sound pieces that were created by our Digital Day Camp 2013 youth, in collaboration with World Up! (taught by SpazeCraft).  Ammy Rodriguez and Issac Atif came out to represent!  The music sounded amazing!
