In Sept. 1995, the Cowboys signed free agent cornerback Deion Sanders to a $35 million contract, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL. Dallas is hoping its latest free agent cornerback, Brandon Carr, can match Sanders’ success. The former Chief signed a five-year, $51 million deal to shore up the Cowboys defensive backfield.
