DC/WB Goes All in On Wonder Woman Movie - Seeks Female Director

Word comes from the Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. is seeking a woman to direct its big screen Wonder Woman film.

While Marvel came close to having a female director, Patty Jenkins for their Thor film, the director of the Wonder Woman film would be the first female direction in either of the big twos shared universes.

Female directors are still a rarity in Hollywood. Only one woman has ever won the Oscar for Best Director (Kathryn Bigelow). The biggest grossing animated film of all time and the highest grossing film of 2013, Frozen was also directory by a woman, Jennifer Lee.

This would not be the first Wonder Woman film directed by a woman - Lauren Montgomery directed the animated film made in 2009.

Meanwhile Marvel has yet to announce any film with female lead.

So who could direct Wonder Woman? I thought this list from /Film had a good list. Forbes does too.

Who would you put on the list?

Also if you have the desire to comment with the words “reverse sexism” you need to go stand in a corner.

BATMAN & DRACULA ~ RED RAIN
24x36 Screen Print - Edition of 225 ~
Mondo Poster Art by Francesco Francavilla

I can finally let this cat, err, bat out of the bag: I have two prints at the Mondo gallery show celebrating BATMAN’s 75th Anniversary! We were not allowed to talk about this until the show opened, and the show opened tonight, so here it is, my first poster :)
When thay approached me about partecipating at the gallery, they asked if there was a story I wanted to tribute: gotta say I always have been a huge fan of RED RAIN and Kelly Jones work, and I like horror (as you know ;)), so the pick was easy.
Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I did drawing it :)

Cheers,
FF

Once upon a time… …there was a girl. Born to be something unlike the world had ever seen. A dancing hunter. But she didn’t want that. And so, she ran away. Hungry and desperate, she found salvation in the dark flap of wings. She thought she was a bat. But she came to find she wasn’t that either. She was only a runaway girl… …named Cain.
