We have such a beautiful & rich history & we literally come from such a strong lineage of classy, eloquence women who walked with integrity & dignity. I mean we come from queens, there is royalty running through our veins. This generation is definitely not a reflection of what those women stood for and doesn't embody the lessons that those women taught us. I love history and to see how African- American women carried themselves back then as oppose to now, there is absolutely no comparison. I believe that so many of them would be so disappointed in us that we aren't taking heed to the legacy and the principles that they have left us to follow and to pattern our lives after. They were absolutely beautiful with clothes on. They were respected without degrading themselves & commanded a room and nations without devaluing themselves for attention. I know that my generation as a whole can't get back to the dignity and the integrity that those women had but I pray that more of us will be the examples that these young girls need to embody the dignity and class that those women had. #EllaBaker #DaisyBates #FannyLouHammer #LenaHorne #RubyDee #DianeNash #CorettaScottKing #BettyShabazz #MaryMcleodBethune #DorothyHeight #DorothyDandridge #MarianAnderson #JeanWynonaFleming

Daisy Bates (1914-1999) was a pivotal civil rights activist and the guide, mentor, and advisor for the Little Rock Nine. When the Supreme Court ruled that segregation among schools was no longer constitutional, the state of Arkansas resisted the ruling. Daisy Bates advocated for integration and helped identify the nine students who would be the first African-American students to attend Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Throughout her life, she continued to fight for civil rights, working for the Democratic National Committee in Washington and incubating many community projects in Little Rock. #DaisyBates #BHMphotochallenge #BlackHistoryMonth #Woman #LittleRockNine
