April 16, 2015 . 5:54 AM // everything is a bit messy at the moment, but I’m finally done!

My exam is in two hours, so that gives me a bit of time to have some breakfast and review a few things. I’m feeling surprisingly alright for someone who has pulled an all nighter. (Well, almost all night, I napped on the floor for an hour).

After the exam it’s back to work on my programming assignment. I’m certainly going to make sure I make time to sleep and relax this weekend. It’s been an extremely exhausting and productive week. (I say that every week, tbh).

Yesterday was our very first AKC agility trial!

We usually compete in CPE (and sometimes NADAC). I tried to hold off on entering AKC because I knew it was more competitive and less forgiving compared to other agility venues and I just wanted to make sure Gatsby and I were really ready before I entered us.

We just had 2 runs yesterday: Jumpers with Weaves (JWW) and Standard. We qualified in both! We placed 1st in JWW and 2nd in Standard. In the 8″-16″ jump classes, Gatsby had the fastest time with 28.95 seconds. Out of all the jump classes, he was second to a border collie by 8 seconds. We scored a 95/100 in JWW (he got one refusal).

In Standard, we got a 90/100 (ugh, two table faults), with fairly good time. He nailed all his contacts, his start line stays were GREAT, and he got his weaves done.

I couldn’t be any more pleased with how we did yesterday! I’m so so so proud of this little nugget. So lucky to have him as my corgility partner.
