Bilbo getting frustrated because Fili and Kili wont tell him what Thorin is saying so Bilbo starts going through books and trying to translate on his own. Balin walks in on Bilbo one day with a pile of books around.
“What are you doing laddie?”
“Trying to figure out what ‘zu
azâg id-thutrel’ means.”
Balin smiled fondling at Bilbo who was sitting on the floor cross legged with multiple books in his lap.
“I will teach you our language and in time you will learn what it means. What he is saying to you is too precious of a thing to pass from my lips.”
Thorin and Bilbo stood out on the rampart, gazing up at the night sky. The guards kept their distance, knowing that this was the king and his consorts nightly routine before retiring to their chambers.
Bilbo heard Thorin take in a breath, getting ready to utter the words he did to him every night, before he could though Bilbo turned to face him.
“I wouldn’t say they look like the star of all stars, I mean, I do know that my eyes can be quite lovely at times.” Bilbo smiled up at Thorin teasingly. Thorin stood there with a blush creeping across his cheeks and wide eyes. Bilbo leaned up and kissed Thorin who seemed to not be able to recover over this discovery. “Lets go to bed.” Bilbo began walking away as Thorin called out behind him.
“Was it my nephews?! I swear those two cannot stay out of anything.”
