So for Christmas this year, i asked for two new Xbox 360 controllers. My other two , the ones i got with my 360 Elite, are now pretty beaten up. My mother, who is absolutely in love with sales, got me some 3rd party controllers. i don’t expect my mom to know what the difference between Microsoft made controllers and 3rd party ones are, so i didn’t bother explaining and just said thank you like a good son.
I cracked one open and unraveled it, already it got points for being corded, as i have such nostalgia for corded controllers. I noticed right away that the analog sticks and triggers had a nice texture to them, and i really liked the feel. I also noticed that there were two new buttons, one above the select button and another above the start button.
I pressed the left one and was pleasantly surprised with a beautiful LED glow coming from the controller. I tried the right one and again was surprised, this time not pleasantly. I heard a whining noise and felt a breeze on my hands. I looked all around the controller and finally took notice of the big honking fan on the back of it sucking air to blow out onto my hands. I hated it right away and have not touched that button since, except when i go to press start and hit it.
Go ahead and buy it if you need a new Xbox controller. its cheaper than the Microsoft ones, and its got pretty insane LED’s, not that your looking at them while you play. The texture analog sticks work quite nice as well, but be warned, they are a bit loose.
Here is the product. The Air-Flo
