Project Q - TQLGB youth sexual health project discussion + CliniQ tour

Are you a TQLGB(etc) young person interested in making sexual health services better for trans and queer people? This Wednesday, 6th June, Project Q, a group which aims to do just that, will be meeting in Soho at 2pm to discuss future projects which include producing TQLGB+ friendly literature, mystery shopping and training sexual health services.

At 5pm, the group will be going to cliniQ for a tour.

If you have some ideas for new projects, would like to get involved in current ones, want some moral support to visit cliniQ or would simply like to meet some friendly people, drop us a message on CliniQ’s Facebook page or call Milo on 07758 720 212 for details.

Trans* Health Matters: Public Health & Well-being Conference - Engaging with the Trans* Community

When: Tuesday 12th March 2013
9:30 registration for a 10am start  to 4:30 finish

Where: London Lighthouse 111 Lancaster Road, London, W11 1QT (Map) Near Ladbroke Grove station.

Cost: FREE. There are a limited number of travel bursaries available for those who are unwaged or from unfunded community organisations.

Trans* people are more likely to report poor health and well-being than the general population. Despite sharing a protected characteristic under the Equality Act awareness of trans* health issues remains low amongst healthcare professionals and commissioners. This major national conference will look at specific health needs and issues surrounding trans* inclusion in the planning and delivery of health, public health, and social care services.

Supported by the partner providers of cliniQ, a new and innovative trans* health and well-being NHS  service in central London, together with the National LGB & T Partnership this conference will provide a trans* voice into the health debate and offer practical solutions for trans* engagement and strategic inclusion in the health and social care sectors.

Find out more and register your interest here.

The venue is fully accessible and the conference will be a comfortable and safe space for all trans* people who attend.

Please pass this on to anyone else that you think would be interested in attending.

This event has just been announced. Gendered Intelligence would like to hear from any young trans people 13-25 who are interested in going along - the conference is looking for youth input, and at the least, we’d like to take along a group of young trans people with GI! If you think you’d like to come with us, email admin@genderedintelligence.co.uk to express an interest. We’ll post more details nearer the time.
