Bill Maher Weighs In On ‘American Sniper’ And ‘Psychopath Patriot’ Chris Kyle (VIDEO)

Bill Maher took his turn commenting on the recent Twitter war, where several high profile celebrities, most notably Michael Moore and Seth Rogen, went to Twitter to criticize the film “American Sniper.”

My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren’t heroes. And invaders r worse

Within people there is a longing and a desire such that,
even if a hundred thousand worlds were theirs to own,
still they would find no rest or comfort. They try every
trade and craft, studying astronomy, medicine and
every other subject, but they reach no completion, for
they have not found their true desire.
Poets call the Beloved “heart’s ease,” because there
the heart finds ease. How can we find peace and rest
in anything but the Beloved?
All these pleasures and persuits are like a ladder.
The rungs of a ladder are not a place to make one`s
home ; there are for passing by. Fortunate are those
who learn this. The long road becomes short for them,
and they do not waste their lives upon the steps.

The way the Beloved can fit in my heart,
two thousand lives could fit in this body of mine.
One kernel could contain a thousand bushels,
and a hundred worlds pass through the eye of the needle.
However much I might try to expound or explain Love,
when I come to Love itself, I am ashamed of my explanations…
Love alone can explain the mysteries of love and lovers.

Because representation matters.

It saddens me when I see true heroes treated so poorly. They risk their lives and their families, to defend and secure the freedoms this country takes for granted. They leave a whole person - funny, loving, full of character. They come back broken, scared of every noise, unable to adjust to being back from pure hell. No one tries to understand, they are not the person they were, they are not without guilt or suffering. The wives see the gradual changes tour after tour, they lose the man they fell in love with, the father their children know. These men develop an unhealthy loyalty to that life and they will go back again and again…because they are already broken.

When they return, we do not help them, we do not try and bring them back. We forget about them. We call them cowards and psychopaths. By men who wouldn’t have handled that mission for 24 hours before running home to their comfortable life.

These men had to become someone else to do the job - someone who could shoot a kid before that kid killed 20 marines with a grenade.

Chris Kyle lost his life trying to help another soldier suffering as he was. He survived hell to die at home helping another soldier we forgot about suffering from PTSD. That’s the Chris Kyle America should remember - it’s the glimpse of the man he was before he fought a war to ensure the freedoms of everyone that takes it for granted.

All I can say is that I’m damn glad for men like Chris Kyle. Marines went home alive because of Chris Kyle. He sacrificed everything he was to be who we needed him to be. For that he has all of my respect.

Know that between the Faithful is an ancient union.
The Faithful are numerous, but the Faith is one:
their bodies are numerous, but their soul is one.
Besides the understanding which is in the ox,
the human being has another intelligence and soul;
Again, in the saint, the owner of Divine breath,
there is a soul and intelligence other than human.
The souls of wolves and dogs are separate, every one,
but the souls of the Lions of God are in union.
