Masala Chai Tea Latte
4 whole cloves
2 cardamom pods
1 cinnamon stick, broken into pieces
3 cups water
¼ inch fresh ginger
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 cups milk
2 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons strong black tea (assam or darjeeling)
Add spices, water, ginger and pepper and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for 5 minutes. Add the sugar and bring to a boil again. Pour out into cups and add steamed milk. Serve!
Very popular tea from India of course, becoming quite popular in the USA although most probably isn’t authentic.
