Cases by Olivia Rose Review ♡

One day on Instagram, I was looking through random stuff and found this online shop called “Cases By Olivia Rose”. I loved one of their cases, so I got one for myself and another one for a family member. I just got my package today and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on my case! Before I start, this post is not sponsored by Cases by Olivia Rose. All thoughts are my honest opinions and the cases are purchased myself.

- The shipping and packaging was great. It took 3 days for my order to be shipped out, then it took 2 weeks to arrive (I don’t live in the U.S. so it’s okay). My cases came in a small package, and each case came in nice wrapping paper. I also got a CBOR sticker, business card, and my receipt.

- I bought 2 cases, and both of them are iPhone 5 cases. The case fits on my phone perfectly, it’s nice and protective and it also covers a little of the front of your phone. I have no problems with the case.

- About the graphics, they were a little blurry. This applies to BOTH cases that I got. Up close, you can see some pixels and it makes it obvious that it was printed. Honestly, it looks kinda cheap. I know that these phone cases are handmade, but for $15 each, I do have some high expectations, and this definitely let me down. It doesn’t look as bad from far away though. If you’re planning to buy phone cases from this shop, please be aware of this, because it doesn’t show in pictures but you’ll see it in real life! I don’t know if this is true or not, but from looking at her cases, it looks like she printed the design off, cut it to the shape of the case, and glossed it on. Not the best quality to be honest.

- After using my case for about a week or so, I’ve noticed some scratches due to normal wear and tear. There’s nothing you can really do about it, but I still wanted to let you know. These cases are easier to scratch then other cases because of the way it’s made.

Overall, I’m pretty pleased with my purchase. Everything was great except for the graphic on my phone cases. I would give it a 4/5 stars for my overall experience with CBOR. It would be a 5/5 if the quality of the cases improved. If you don’t like the graphic on the phone, they have a great return policy so you can keep that in mind.

CBOR is a binary format that can always be translated to (and from) JSON, is extensible, small, and easy to process. CoRE is a proposed HTTP-like protocol for implementing RESTful services on small devices.

The Internet of Things is hear today and the IETF has begun a number of standardisation efforts in this area. Notable amongst them is the Constrained RESTful Environments (CoRE) working group, which is looking to provide REST approaches to constrained devices.
