It’s not the first time the?Moynat Cabotin?has been covered on this blog, and chances are it won’t be the last. One of the brands I wanted to check out in person this time round while in Paris (I even made sure I stayed around the corner from it along?Rue Saint Honoré), its lone flagship is a marvel to ogle at, a shimmering maroon/burgundy glassed facade which is spread over 3 floors.

Even more beautiful in real life, the Cabotin is inspired by those rounded tin lunch boxes of yore, lifting the curved top flap to reveal its insides, much like how you would with the lunch box. Amazingly lightweight (I would know since I kept fondling it for the longest time), the other striking feature about it had to be its clasp closures, which are derived from Moynat’s archive of luggage trunks.

It also comes with a removable sling, which makes perfect sense if you need both hands free, a gorgeous piece that will look great whether you’re dressed up, or down. Priced at EUR2550, you can only get this via their store in Paris, or order it online via email. It’s that exclusive, which makes the asking price really reasonable at the end of the day.
