"Harry Soffer- carrying the pickled herring & stuff we had brought in Petticoat Lane one Sunday in 1945"

AKA that time my great-aunt was a WAC stationed in London and she and her friends confirmed swanjolraven's theory that pretty much everyone in the history of the world ever was a complete dork

And it’s these things I’d believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn’t all she should be. I love her and it is the beginning of everything.

And the final in the set (for now) of my Doctor Who commissions from Big Chief Studios! Portrait of John Hurt’s (as of this moment, still mysterious) War Doctor, titled “The Lonely God,” officially approved by the BBC! Ref images were provided by them as well. Part of my official series, but as you can see has quite a different, darker feel than the others; I was going for an intense, fiery battlefield sort of thing. It’s the Night of the Doctor, after all.

Will be available to buy at the DW Official 50th Celebration in London, and online afterwards! Follow me on Tumblr or Instagram for relevant announcements.

Three weeks after leaving Hogwarts, James and Sirius find themselves in the middle of Diagon Alley, in their first Order mission. Young and unafraid, can’t imagine what they’re fighting against. The war is not anymore that distant thing you read in the Daily Prophet while drinking pumpkin juice in the Great Hall, or seeing and comforting a friend or a classmate after losing their love ones, or defending students that are being teased, bullied or even tortured by other students in the middle of the corridor. The war is here, now, fighting beside your best friend, both too young and inexperienced in the battle field to deal with Death Eaters. Any distraction can get your friend hurt, any destraction can get you hurt… get you both killed. And the next thing James knows is Sirius has been hit by a Diffindo curse in the chest and there’s blood everywhere. Panic. Anger. Fear. After stunning the Death Eater that hit Sirius with all the anger he has inside, James carries his friend’s body to an empty alley to try to save his life, but nothing is working and there’s no dittany to heal his wounds. And this is what war feels like, being 18 and desperate to save your best mate’s life, alone and scared.
