boston-street-art

I am originally from Boston and took a trip up there over the weekend to visit family. I haven’t lived in Boston since 2001 and hadn’t even visited downtown since maybe 2008-9. It was weird to see how little had changed in some places and how much had changed in others. One thing that really stuck out to me was the lack of street art and graffiti. It exists in rudimentary forms under overpasses or along subway tunnels but the large scale murals, detailed pieces, and thought-provoking work I’ve come to love in NYC just wasn’t there in the main areas of downtown Boston. I did spot this pretty garden mural in Chinatown after an AWESOME dim sum breakfast with my boyfriend at Windsor.

On my next visit, I’m going to start wandering out further from the T lines to see what I can find.
