The Beneteau Oceanis 55 is a versatile cruising boat in a perfect size range to be both large enough to sleep 10 people and be easy to sail short-handed. The builder calls her a “custom” boat, and while we wouldn’t go that far, she does have five different interior layouts, three keel depths to chose from, and over 61 options, so owners can zero-in on exactly what they want.  For our full report, click here: http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?ID=2835

It’s hard not to like being on a boat like the 500 Sundancer. As we discovered, she handles well in windy conditions and gets good fuel economy. Being able to take her out in some more challenging seas was a great experience and it often brings out the worst in a boat. That said, the worst of the 500 was a genuine pleasure.

It started with the NC9 that impressed us with her versatility. Then the NC11 came along and the innovations continued. Now there’s the new NC14, proving not only that bigger is better, but also that she is as easy to handle as her little sisters. We tested this latest launch with a pair of Volvo Penta 370-hp IPS500s and reached a top speed of just under 32 kts.  Check out the full report and test video here: http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?ID=2778

The new MCY 70 has now made her world debut, and she shows that Monte Carlo Yacht’s flair for styling, fit-and-finish, as well as creative use of space, continues. Her looks exemplify the theme that has defined the brand, and now we’ve discovered that her handling and performance are on par with the quality we’ve come to expect from this builder. It’s all in our latest test video.

While many motoryachts in this class tend to focus on day boating and dockside cocktail parties, the Hatteras 80 reflects an owner’s desire for serious cruising to remote destinations and extended time aboard. But she is also intended for serious entertaining as the table on the bow indicated. Her wide beam accommodates four large staterooms with en suite heads, a spacious “country kitchen” galley, a large saloon with an adjacent formal dining table, plus a warm and inviting aft deck completes the layout. All of this while maintaining the highest level of luxury and construction standards. http://www.boattest.com/boats/boat_video.aspx?ID=1324

Monte Carlo Yachts has taken the international, large motoryacht market by storm during the last 18 months. In quick succession the builder has launched three models — a 76, 65, and now a 70 — all with the same distinctive exterior lines and elegant interior decor. With creative use of space for mega-entertaining on the bow, aft deck, and flying bridge combined with bold, unforgettable styling, Monte Carlo Yachts has brought a new look and feel to the large yacht market.
