Eddy Boasson Hagen could only manage 4th spot in stage 2 of the Tour of Norway despite a strong leadout from the rest of Team Sky he couldn’t hold of a charging Raymond Kreder (Garmin). Alessandro Petacchi finished 2nd and will be in the leaders jersey tomorrow and Lotto’s Tosh Van der Sande came in 3rd on the finish in Drammen.
I know Sky have got alot of stick when it comes to how they are utilizing Eddy B but personally i think maybes hes a little over hyped, dont get me wrong i love him as a character but hes just not really performed so far this season having only won 2 stages, one in Tirreno - Adriatico & the other in Volta ao Algarve. I feel he’s much more suited to the harder finishes and not flat out sprints, his 2 wins in last years Tour were proof of that with his win in Lisieux & then later in Pinerelo. So as Eddy B turns 24 i just hope Sky or Edvald himself decide what sort of a rider he is going to be before his undoubted potential has gone to waste.
