hey jams what is the definition of a political queer

i mean im a “political queer” & the ability to conceptualize myself as having “chosen” aspects of queerness is important to me but what im talking about is essentially the presentation of queerness as completely a choice, and a political choice, one to be made out of solidarity and as a statement against heteropatriarchy or w.ever

it’s cool and it can definitely open doors for people i usually dub “proto-queers” but it also slams the door fucking shut on a lot of “proto-queers” who are maybe struggling more with the internal side of things and it sure as hell gets used a lot to shout down people who have entire lifetimes of being queered externally because of their internal desires (in the sense that i think the larger culture tends to focus a lot of socializing violence on people who express queerness from a young age)

hmm!! I liked your post abt altuzarra. he did spend a bit of time at givenchy so it does help to explain his European point of view (which I adore)

Oh, interesting point about Givenchy. Didn’t know that.

I also know that he was born in Paris, and both his parents are Europeans. Perhaps his art history degree has something to do with it, as well.

bn0024 replied to your post:i bought myself some target brand “zen party”…

whenever i see products like that with weirdly/nonsensically appropriated concepts/iconography i always end up imagining the reverse

imagine in some japanese big box store somewhere there’s Eucharist Mix ™ and it’s just mediocre knockoff chex mix

or like an Indian Pier 1 Imports analogue with statues of christ bleeding on the cross in varying sizes on sale for decorative purposes

like the japanse already have the equivalent of american t-shirts with random “because they look cool” kanji on them

…and now idk where i was going with this post. my brain is all over tonight.
that “condensation” sweater is very next level tho
