Search, Hunt & Sniff Out Silicones In Your Hair Products

Flip the back of your products over and look for these silicones listed below. These silicone ingredients build up on the hair and scalp. To avoid product build up, you will have to use a surfactant-based shampoo. Most surfactant- based shampoos contain harsh ingredients like ammounium laurel sulfates, that tend to dry hair out exposing your strands to brittleness, hardness and breakage.

*If you are unable to make a clear distinction between silicones, just avoid using products with ingredients whose name end in -cone like:

*Cetyl Dimethicone
*Cyclomethicone
*Steary Dimethicone
* Trimethylsilylamodimethicone
*Amodimethicone
