Bective Abbey is a Cistercian abbey on the River Boyne, Ireland. The abbey founded by Murchad O’Maeil-Sheachlainn in 1147 as a ‘daughter house’ of Mellifont Abbey. Although nothing remains except old ruins and walls, it is in a remarkable state of preservation. Bective Abbey is easy to find thanks to many sign posts along the way and it sets in the middle of a farmer’s pasture.
Before I #travel to a new country, I have something small and #personal I desire to do. In the ruins of Bective Abbey in #Ireland I hugged a gorgeous #tree. My joy and trip was complete. #IG (at Bective Abbey, Meath, Ireland)
