Wifi down!! :-(
Upgraded my Kubuntu to 11.04 yesterday, wifi (Firefox dictionary suggesting wife :-D ) stopped working after that. This was expected and unexpected. Expected, as it had happened earlier, the transition for my graphics card and WLAN card used to fail earlier. Unexpected, last transition from Kubunu 10.04 to 10.10 was a cakewalk.
lspci for my laptop gives
0c:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01)
After searching, finally found the solution(how to downgrade the driver). Here is how to do it.
- Remove current driver. Applications>System>Additional Drivers
- sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer
Thats it :-)
