One of my favorite things about the Good Omens fandom is that you can always sort of tell when there’s a drawing of Aziraphale and Crowley. Like, the art style might be completely out of left field, and Aziraphale might be white or brown or black or dressed in a sweatervest or a trenchcoat or medieval armor and he might have glasses or he might not but you can just sort of tell.
“25 And the Lord spake unto the Angel that guarded the eastern gate, saying ‘Where is the flaming sword that was given unto thee?’ 26 And the Angel said, ‘I had it here only a moment ago, I must have put it down some where, forget my own head next.’ 27 And the Lord did not ask him again.”
Aziraphale and Crowley from “Good Omens”. Though Aziraphale being a klutz and Crowley catching the books as they fell turned more into Crowley being like “WTF WHY AM I CARRYING YOUR BOOKS LOOK AT THIS ONE IN MY HAND LOOK” and Aziraphale being like “You are such a dear” OTL
I finally got around to reading Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and of course I loved it. There’s plenty more I’d like to draw but goodness, there are too many great characters in this book.
[crashes into your living room] RICHARD AYOADE!AZIRAPHALE [accidentally breaks your fine porcelain] SENDHIL RAMAMURTHY!CROWLEY [tries to fix everything with duct tape] WHY CAN’T I COME UP WITH FANCASTS LIKE THESE ON MY OWN
Good Omens cover (front, back, spine and wings) for Book Illustration. I wanted to go back to my flat style for a bit just to see how else I could use it (and also the fact that I haven’t used it at all since coming back to school from winter break, which is just plain weird).
Aziraphale and his cocoa on the front; Crowley with tea on the back.
"My dear boy-" "You won’t have a choice." "Listen-" "Heaven has no taste." Now-“ "And not one single sushi restaurant."
That was the final straw for Aziraphale and Crowley, who at that point, combined their efforts to save the world. Good Omens is one of my favorite books for many reasons, but most likely for these incredibly contrasting and fabulous characters. If you haven’t read it, you should pick up a copy!
This print will be available at Fanime! I’ll be at Table 38.
