Honestly what trips me out most about the visual depiction of women in comic books isn’t the gravity defying boobs, the bent spines, the unholy omnipresence of high heels, or the lack of internal organs. It’s that far to many comic artists depict all women as having the same face. And I’m not talking about artists who also only know how to draw one face for dudes. At that point my brain accepts it as a quirk of stylization, and whatevs. I watch anime, I can roll with that. It’s when the men look like individuals, and the women look like palette swapped versions of one person wearing different wigs. That shit’s creepy. And extra creepy cuz I suspect the artist has arrived at what for them is the optimally attractive female face, and is not allowing any of their female characters to deviate from it.
