13 foods that prove “All Natural” is a huge lie

While the vast majority of food products are safe, big food companies essentially have carte blanche to market unhealthy foods as good nutritional choices, contributing directly to the nation’s ongoing obesity crisis. And food companies often just flaunt the rules, knowing that the main recourse left to consumers — a class-action lawsuit — is both expensive and difficult.

How-to Make Homemade Essential Oil Insect Repellent Spray
Makes 4 ounces

  • 2 ounces distilled or boiled water
  • 1.5 ounces witch hazel or vodka
  • 30 drops citronella essential oil
  • 25 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 15 drops tea tree essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil* (optional, if you add this, add only 1 ounce of vodka or witch hazel

(please make sure to read above for all of the different options of oils so you can make your own custom mixture)

Using a 4 oz clean spray bottle fill with water, add the witch hazel or vodka then about 50 to 75 total drops of your various essential oils. Shake well. Spray onto exposed skin and/or clothing, avoiding eyes and mucous membranes. Reapply every 2 hours, or as needed. Store in a dark bottle, away from heat or sunlight.

**For the best results, please make sure you are using therapeutic grade oils. Please do your research if you plan to use this on a pregnant woman, young children or someone undergoing holistic treatments, as essential oils can interact with certain treatments. Lavender and tea tree oils are the only essential oils that can be applied directly to the skin, all others should always be diluted. This mixture could also be sprayed on your dog’s collar to help keep pests off of him/her, but please do not use on cats, as many essential oils are toxic to cats.**

Remember, you don’t want to fill the bottle completely full, so there is room to shake the mixture each time, which is necessary as the essential oils do not dissolve in the water and will therefore separate.

This is my skin in high resolution, raw and unfiltered… straight out of the camera. I would have NEVER posted a shot like this… never in my whole life! Hell, I wouldn’t have posted a shot of my own skin this raw and close up 2 months ago. This portion of my face (on both sides) was plagued with deep cystic acne, insanely clogged pores and bright red surface acne. It was seriously not cool. In pictures it looked like a rocky terrain you could find on a map of a foreign land.

I was already in the habit of eating clean but 2 months ago I threw away pretty much every skin care product in the medicine cabinet… if it had chemicals it was trashed. I swapped out an expensive Aveda “acne cleanser” and replaced it with Purpose (a cheap soap-free cleanser) and I began using Organic Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner 1-2 times a day. I replaced my moisturizer’s with 100% organic aloe and grape seed extract water. I began exfoliating with warm organic coffee grounds once a week and increased my water intake. I began eating raw red cabbage like it was my job. I also began replacing other foods in my clean diet with those that are known to help keep hormones in balance.

The result: Well as you can see I have one tiny pimple and a few slightly congested pores that I used steam to open up and clean out last night. My scars and deep marks are fading and plumping back up… looking better daily with the use of apple cider vinegar, aloe and freshly squeezed lemon juice.

Next week I will be putting together a special post for anyone out there suffering from bad breakouts and constant acne. I’ll be posting images of the stuff I’ve been using and explain in detail how I’ve been using everything… when, where, how much pressure to apply… you name it!

I suffered with awful and painfully blemished skin for most of my life. I feel like I’ve been battling a horrid monster for 20 years and I have finally won. I’m hoping my posts about this find others who are fighting the same fight. Even if I only help one single human being with this… every second… every word typed… all my effort… SO WORTH IT.
