Aleister Crowley, who worked with, and wrote about, Enochian magic extensively, has contributed much to its comparatively widespread use today. Crowley published the Golden Dawn Enochian material as “A Brief Abstract of the Symbolic Representation of the Universe Derived by Doctor John Dee Through the Skrying of Sir Edward Kelly.” (Initially published in Crowley’s Journal The Equinox Nos VII and VIII, this work was subsequently renamed Liber LXXXIV vel Chanokh, or The Book of Enoch - Chanokh being an older Hebrew form of the nameEnoch. Crowley numbered the book as 84 since that number is the Qabalistic numeration for Chanokh. (In some printings the number 89 is mistakenly assigned to the book).

Crowley’s most famous work with Enochian focused upon the Calls of the Aethyrs. His visions from these Calls, which he experienced while working with Victor Neuberg in Algeria, formed a document called The Vision and the Voice, also known as Liber 418 (or to give it its full title,Liber CCCCXVIII: Liber XXX Ærum Vel Saeculi, Being of the Angels of the Thirty Aethyrs the Vision and the Voice - see Holy Books of Thelema). The book was written with highly symbolic imagery and is integral to Crowley’s explication of his Law of Thelema. Recordings of Crowley reading the First and Second Calls of the Aethyrs (in both English and Enochian) exist; they were recorded as part of a series of wax cylinder recordings made by Crowley in 1922, and can be found on various compilations of these recordings onto CD which are widely available today.

Aethyrs - Character Assignment...

Okay, Orphans…. Voila!  the first run through of the Aethyrs list which we’ll be using for upcoming plot.  Each of these has a much longer description behind it with a lot of information that can be ‘translated’ in any way you wish.  Remember, each of the Aethyrs, when triggered should have a positive and negative effect on your character.  Any Aethyrs that are ‘doubled’ (two names with it) will require some kind of interaction between those characters to trigger it.  The effects on each person however, can be unique.

The unclaimed Aethyrs will be plot devices/events within the upcoming story - or if you thing you would like to swap with one of these, or someone else… Just shout up…

This is just a starter for ten - nothing set in stone as of yet!

  1. The veil of the aethyr dark azure full of countless stars; a vibration of the great word IAIDA; a little child covered with lilies and roses; the formula of the Aeon revealed.

  3. [Ruby] An angry light and a great snake feeding upon the plumes of truth as upon itself; the veil of the Aethyr sundered to reveal the Magus of the Tarot.
  4. [Caroline] In the midst of the Aethyr a terrible god with a thousand arms, and clinging to him a young girl in throes of passion; the elixir of life distilled.
  5. [Alaric] A shining pylon set with the sigil of the eye; then an avenue of pylons, in each seated a god, leads to the top of a mountain; weapons are offered, and a mysterious password.
  6. A great angel comprising magical symbols striving for mastery; illusions conjured by the Ape of Thoth; the more one struggles to devise methods of piercing the veil the further one seems from success. A vision of the God of Lies
  7. [Sam & Dean] The stone of vision is divided with the left half dark, the right half light; a door like a keyhole in the shape of a Venus symbol opens and flames of blue, green and violet issue forth. A question concerns the key to open the lock.
  8. A pyramid of light fills the Aethyr, and in the pyramid is the child of the union of light and darkness. Instructions are given by which may be attained the knowledge and conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel.
  9. The veil is rent with a clap of thunder and the vision is of traversing the abyss on a razor-edge of light with armies ranged above and in front; in the palace beyond is a proud and delicate woman lying naked: the Virgin of Eternity.
  10. [Lucifer] This Aethyr is said to be accursed. The Call of the 10th Aethyr may be employed to invoke Choronzon, the Demon of the Abyss. 
  11. [Ash] A sigil of the moon rolls up to reveal a host of angels in battle attire. The whole defended by a fortress of nine towers of iron, the bastion of the outermost abyss.
  12. [Elijah and Klaus]  Two pillars of flame and a chariot of white fire like the Tarot trump; the charioteer in golden armour speak with a voice like a bell.
  13. [Castiel] An image of shining waters glistening in the sun; an angel walking on the water a rainbow about his head; a golden veil parts to reveal two terrible black giants wrestling in mortal combat.
  14. [Adam] A white goat, a green dragon and a tawny bull are clouded by a veil of darkness; a voice announces ‘The Great One of the Night of Time’; the veils of darkness are torn and fly away in a whirling wind to reveal the angel standing in the sign of ‘Apophis and Typhon’.
  15. A column of whirling scarlet fire with columns about it of green, blue, gold and silver inscribed with letters of the dagger alphabet; a fire playing about the columns transforms into the skirts of a dancer who weaves a crimson rose of 49 petals.
  16. [Chuck] Flickering images in a misty landscape; the moonrise at midnight and a crowned virgin riding on a bull; the angel a mighty king with crown, orb and sceptre. He tears off the crown and casts the orb and sceptre to the ground.
  17. [Eric] The head of a dragon, and a pair of balances with a luminous azure plume behind; a filament of quartz suspended above an abyss; the angel like black diamonds transforming into a sphere of liquid gold then green then blue.
  18. A crucifixion scene, the central figure an enormous bat; an angel offers entry to the mountain of caverns and tears down the vision with the sign of ‘Rending the Veil’; a mountain of pure crystal is revealed.
  19. A black web pierced with a ray of light, then a black cross spanned with an arch bearing letters in an alphabet made of symbols like daggers; an old man like the Hermit of the Tarot.
  20. [Cassie] A pool of clear golden water and the stars of the night sky; a peacock dissolving into clouds of white angels and archangels with trumpets; all gathering into a multi-coloured whirling wheel.
  21. [Ari] A mighty wind and a sense of emptiness; shadows of great angels sweeping by with no sound; a glimpse of an avenue of pillars and a black marble throne supported by sphinxes.
  22. A tablet of 49 squares surrounded by a company of angels, some brilliant and flashing as gods, some elemental creatures; the squares of the tablet filled with changing letters in magical script. An angel proud and beautiful with pan-pipes.
  23. Three revolving lights; a spiders web with a star of twelve rays; a black bull pawing the ground, flames from his mouth, transforming into an Assyrian bull-man.
  24. [Michael] An angel like a warrior in chain armour, upon his head plumes of grey; about his feet are scorpions, dogs, lions, elephants and other wild beasts; crackling of lightning, rolling thunder and sounds of battle.
  25. [Pam and Jessica] The pale gold of the Rosy Cross; the aire is the dark olive of alexandrite; an angel on a white horse and another upon a black bull are devoured by a lion.
  26. [Jesse] A very bright pentagram, the heavens filled with the blackness of a mighty angel; spears, vials of poison, sharp swords and whirling thunderbolts about the corners of the earth.
  27. [Jo] An angel in female form with rainbow wings; dress green with silver, flames of many-coloured fire surrounding; crest is a moon, sandals of curved silver.
  28. An angel with opalescent garments like wheels of fire holding a flail of scarlet lightning, face black, eyes white without pupil or iris.
  29. Sky with stars of gold, background green; a vast eagle-angel whose wings seem to hide all the heaven.
  30. [END GAME] A vast crystal cube surrounded by a sphere; about are four archangels robed in black, with wings and armour outined in white.

New Story Arc; The Thirty Aethyrs

This is a quick preview of possible upcoming plot - please leave feedback as comments (anon or not) on the main, or feel free to contact the mods (Sam or Cas) if you want to chat about anything!

General Overview;

The Thirty Aethyrs are actually part of real angelic / enochian lore.  Each of them is represented by a symbolic description.  The idea is that these Aethyrs become the new ‘seals’, much like the 66 that were used to open Lucifer’s cage.  However, when all 30 Aethyrs are present, the gates to both Heaven and Hell will be unsealed, angels/archangels/demons etc. will once again be able to return to their respective domains and have full access to the powers granted by each.

Each of the Aethyrs will be attributed to a character or a specific event within the rp (your mods will keep track of which Aethyrs are for who, and which have been triggered on the main rp blog).

You will receive a notification of which Aethyr has been assigned to your character with possible suggestions of how it could be triggered and how it could manifest.  It’s up to you to decide when/if this is going to happen - but be aware, the angels and demons will be looking for Aethyrs so they can open the doors again…

Manifesting Aethyrs;

When the Aethyr assigned to your character is triggered, it will manifest - the trigger could be a character action, or it could depend on another character or event.  This will have both an advantageous and disadvantageous effect on your character.  You may lose/gain abilities depending on what your Aethyr is.  The mods are happy to provide suggestions on how this could manifest (no godmodding please), or you can interpret the ‘symbolism’ of your Aethyr however you wish - remember, this should have both a ‘good’ and a ‘bad’ effect.

Example 1;

Sam Winchester - Aethyr number 7. The description of the Aethyr is as follows…

The stone of vision is divided with the left half dark, the right half light; a door like a keyhole in the shape of a Venus symbol opens and flames of blue, green and violet issue forth. A question concerns the key to open the lock.

…As you can see, they’re pretty ‘vague’, so they’re open for a lot of interpretation.

Triggering;  Sam is always asking questions, so in relation to his Aethyr, Sam will probably find out the answer to something that has been bugging him for a long time.  As soon as he gets the answer, that will trigger his Aethyr.

Manifestation;  This could be taken literally or figuratively.  In Sam’s case, with the ‘stone of vision’ and ‘one half light, one half dark’, it could quite literally mean he goes blind for 12 out of 24 hours.

Effects;   Obviously the ‘bad’ effect would be being blind as a bat for 12 hours every day.  The ‘good’ effect is that when he can see, he can see more than normal, possibly seeing into other light spectrum’s, the ability to see grace or souls or spirits etc.

Example 2;

Dean Winchester - Aethyr number 8.  Description as follows…

A pyramid of light fills the Aethyr, and in the pyramid is the child of the union of light and darkness. Instructions are given by which may be attained the knowledge and conversation of the Holy Guardian Angel.

Triggering;  Dean has effectively been Sam’s ‘Guardian Angel’ his whole life, so as soon as Sam’s Aethyr is triggered, Dean’s goes right along with it.

Manifestation;  In this case, it’s likely that Dean would actually gain some of his very own angelic attributes, literally turning into a Guardian Angel.

Effects;  Dean is likely gonna be pissed about the whole thing and with grace suddenly at his disposal, and likely out of control he’s going to have to learn how to control both it and his temper - a little like ghost!Bobby trying to be ‘zen’ - or there will be random smiting of things.  Also, with wings suddenly trying to cut out of his back, it’s not going to put him in a better mood.  Good effect - Dean has his own grace to wield.  Bad effect - he has to learn how to control it…

Summary / Endgame;

Hopefully this will give you some idea of how things will work with this story arc, and that you’ll enjoy playing out the effects of the Aethyr on your character. (Please be aware, the above were just examples to illustrate the possible ways this could happen and these haven’t been set in stone as of yet).

The endgame will come when 29 Aethyrs have been triggered - Aethyr number 30 is as follows…

A vast crystal cube surrounded by a sphere; about are four archangels robed in black, with wings and armour outined in white.

Which is basically the archangels coming to a head and it’s a scramble for control of both Heaven and Hell when the doors are opened… Which leads us onto something altogether new…

A popular way I seem to entertain my mind is going off intuition and attempt to correspond thoughts and notations. Believe it or not, compounding beliefs define your mind even more, to think another perspective, this greatly effects your state of spirituality. You can go up, but not down in enlightenment, when enough suffering is caused by actions, you revert to previous methods. Same goes for correspondences, action and then reaction. What we practice in our mind and astral body can prove right or wrong and we will resort back to old standards.

Crown existence - With Crown, surrealism cognates visions within the second dimension, after the first dimension relays the dense thought out timeline that is set upon multiple planes (Thirty-three Aethyrs). Crown is experienced in the Seventh dimension.

Seventh Dimension - the realm of divine sound and harmonics. All beings of this level exist as expressions of essence through the harmonics of sound, individually and collectively. Form can no longer be projected directly without down stepping dimensionally. Patterns are formed by the sound but are nebulous flows of color and movement. Varying spiral patterns are the only describable forms to be found. When beings on this level wish to communicate with one another they simply combine their sounds, blend colors and create new patterns. From this experience, both consciousnesses are energized and fully comprehend one another. There is also a greater understanding, which comes from the principle of, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It is the next level of collective consciousness, but this time with other souls as well as different parts of your own. Beings on this level literally hold the key to translating all experience and consciousness into pure sound, carrying frequency and creating flow patterns. These sound frequencies make up the only common language from the seventh dimension down. This is the realm of pure Melchizedek consciousness, as the fifth is of Christ consciousness. Members of the same soul family origins have the ability to experience themselves as the same being on this dimension while maintaining the capacity for individuation.

Third Eye existence - Not with, but in the Third Eye is the seat of the soul, the soul is sixth dimension. Higher-self and beyond, we cannot experience greater than a soul, we are entrapped to fifth to lower dimensions - only thought projects here and above. Third Eye is no purpose, in the sixth dimension there is no meaning, useless. The Third Eye is experienced in the Eighth dimension.

Eighth Dimension - pure color and flow patterns are trademarks of this realm. Beings on this dimension exist as self-aware consciousnesses emanating color, light and movement. When communicating with one another, it is more of a synergistic experience during which neither being can tell the difference in itself and the other. Great love of union and communion takes place here. Because of the absence of sounds as an individual _expression on this realm, it is also the realm of the VOID, which in its true purpose is a place to experience one’s wholeness and uniqueness as pure essence and consciousness. When fear is absent, this will be the place of solace and deep rest.

Throat existence - Disassociating is opposed to Throat chakra. Monks do not speak. This said, Throat chakra centers the being and raises/lowers karma, manuvering our light self up or down dimensions. Throat is experienced in the Third dimension.

Third Dimension - physical world and corresponding astral planes; anchored in a linear time - and space-based reality. Anything in this  
realm exists at a maximum of 9000 vibrations per second. This is the realm in which human consciousness lives.

Heart existence - In communion with Solar Plexus, Heart is first dimensional. The heart functions before brain. Mind, body and spirit were created in this dimension. Your heart speaks for you, listen to it. Thought is originated from the void, which exists in the first dimension. Heart is experienced in the First dimension.

Fifth Dimension - this dimension also has dark and light polarities. Beings retain their etheric forms from the third and fourth dimensions combined, but the refinements and freedom to alter these forms at will. The light aspect of this realm contains most of the personal guides to humans, serving angels, many of the Ascended Masters and members of the Great White Brotherhood, initiates schools of the intermediate level, the karmic board, Overlighting Devas, and guardian angels. From this dimension and up it is impossible to talk in terms of vibrations per second because it is beyond time and space limitations through interfacing with time and space reality at will. This is also the dimension of actualized Christ and Buddha consciousness immediately after the completion of incarnation, ascension and transition through the Cities of Light in the fourth dimension. Flying dreams, as well as dreams of healing, higher experiences, and teachings occur in this dimension. This is the dimensional, causal plane relative to humans manifesting and creating in the lower-dimensional worlds during dreamtime. In other words, it is where humans dream their lives into time and space reality, and then wake up and live out their dreams. Higher consciousness, lucid dreaming and white magic happen here. The dark polarity consists of the powerful dark lords of black magic and control. There are dark angels, masters, sorcerers, and rulers of the lower astral planes and underworlds in this realm. If a person develops great psychic powers, and mind control without developing the heart and spiritual integrity, this is where they are ruled by and go during sleep and after leaving their human lives. 

Solar Plexus existence - Solar Plexus is the present moment of existence in subjective reality. Solar Plexus is driven in the fourth dimension as it posits only one product of self. Origination of present self is first dimensional but can be revisited in the fourth. Solar Plexus is experienced in the Fourth dimension.

Fourth Dimension - beings retain consciousness as feelings and thoughts based on feelings. This dimension contains both dark and light polarities. The light realms are made up of “Cities of Light” and those who have reached a vibrational frequency of between 9000 and  
12,000 vibrations per second. The consciousness here is the first stage of Christ consciousness following ascension. Many guides, angels and Ascended Masters impulse the third-dimensional humans who are receptive and available for spiritual growth and evolution. Humans are also impulsed by the dark astral counterpart that exists in this dimension. The dark ones are able to match the lower-vibrational frequency of negative thoughts, vices, repressed emotions, and unhealed or denied shadow sides of humans - and are able to pull them into the dark side and then control them and feed off their pain, fear, and other dense energies. As humans develop higher-vibrational qualities of being, thinking, feeling and doing, as well as transcend the karmic tendencies of their own shadow sides, they are magnetized into the fourth-dimensional light impulses and pull free from the dark control and parasitic beings. The dark polarity of this realm is also one of the places where nightmares and astral abuse take place.

Sacral existence - Sacral only exists within one dimensional, the ninth dimension. Sacral exerts free will in simplest ways. Maturity, and being a lone wolf, are aspects of what happen in this dimension. You become wise at the price of hell, but in return you become more reclusive. Sacral is experienced in the Ninth dimension.

Ninth Dimension - Source point of the Laooesh Shekinah, the Sacred Pillar of Fire, or Pillar of Light. It is the last dimension on which  
a Light Being has the capacity to experience consciousness separate from the entire over-soul collective consciousness at will. The only  
form here is that of the pillar, or parallel strands of very refined light. Everything looks like pure crystalline white light and yet is prismatic, emanating colors to the eighth dimension. This is the dimension of Metatron consciousness. When I was given an experience of this realm once, the only things I could still differentiate from myself was etheric crystals. I had a collection of quartz crystals on the table in the room where my body was when the experience took place. I was suddenly aware that I could still perceive the crystals as separate from me, although the furniture and people in the room had blended into my consciousness completely. I was told that this is as far as a human consciousness can go dimensionally without the body being vaporized. 

Root existence - The existence within the Root chakra is primarily seventh and tenth dimensional. We are unaware, being in third dimension. Seventh is birth of creation, tenth is unification of creation and existential awareness. All experienced within the present form. Root is experienced in the Fifth dimension.

There appears to be no room for the sixth dimension, being that it is replaced by the eighth. Seems to go along with my thoughts that it is inert. Since all but one of the first seven dimensions have been assigned to a dimension, makes me wonder if there is another chakra, or if one of these chakras is experienced in two dimensions. What do you think? Same goes for the second dimension, replaced by the ninth. Perhaps the past second dimension is the future ninth dimension? And perhaps, the past sixth dimension is the future eighth dimension.

Sixth Dimension - this is the realm of the Higher Council, the archangels who interface with Earth, the Council of the Elders, and the beginning of collective consciousness. From this level on up, the dimensions are exclusively of the Light. The collective consciousness  
in this realm is that of souls split apart. In other words, if your soul, after being on Earth in one body, decided to split into two or more parts, whether the decision was based on pain or desire for diversity of experience, at the sixth-dimensional level all parts would share the same Higher Self until rejoined in one body again. This is the realm from which the Higher Self communicates with us and connects with us on a soul and spirit level. Beings on this level can choose to project human-like forms if it serves a purpose, but they actually exist in pure geometric forms which are characteristic of this dimension. This is the realm of Sacred Geometry. In Creation, this is the stage at which thought, color and sound take on geometric form and numerological significance. When beings on this level wish to communicate with one another, they simply blend their energy fields and consciousnesses. There is a unique grid that is formed by this blending and both beings experience the essential nature of the other mainly by virtue of comparison and what the other has to offer. There is a sense of knowing the other without actually feeling as though you have become the other. Melchizedek consciousness exists on this dimension.

Second Dimension - lower astral planes on which the consciousnesses perceive themselves as all that exists, are oblivious to spirit, devoid of souls, and totally self-absorbed; also the realm of certain types of elementals that have no consciousness of their own other than is directed by some controlling force; also contains underworld aspect of what is call the bardos in Buddhism, also known as the Hell realms; realms of all plant species.

Aethyr #18 ~ Activated

A crucifixion scene, the central figure an enormous bat; an angel offers entry to the mountain of caverns and tears down the vision with the sign of ‘Rending the Veil’; a mountain of pure crystal is revealed.

The Earth trembles again, causing unsteady ground underfoot as a massive mountain of pure crystal rises from the steaming volcanic vents of Yellowstone Park.  It looks like a tower of ice, completely colorless and clouded towards the center.

However, this isn’t the only thing to break out of the ground.  All across the remaining landmass, smaller crystals shoot out of the earth, some only a couple of feet tall, some towering as high as twenty.  Surfaces are varied, smooth as glass or razor edged, and each of the smaller structures has a distinct hue, pale through to vibrant in color, casting shimmering patterns onto the surrounding area…

A couple even break ground in camp Chitaqua…

OOC Info;

Each of the crystals has a unique effect depending on it’s color…

Blue ~ Healing; touching a blue crystal will cause all wounds to be healed.  this only works for traumatic injuries (physical wounds) and will not cure the croatoan virus or any other kind of infection.

Red ~ Wrath; coming within about 20 feet of a red crystal will cause people to become angry about the slightest thing.  Touching the crystal will cause that person to frenzy, attacking the nearest person to them, whether friend or foe.  The effect will last for 24 hours.  Any shifters will immediately transform into their alternative form regardless of moon phase on contact.

Green ~ Insight;   Touching a green crystal will allow that person to read the thoughts of anyone within a range of fifty feet.  This works on all species including angels and archangels.

Yellow ~ Weakness;  within about thirty feet of a yellow crystal, that persons energy will begin to be drained, regardless of species.  Touching the crystal will knock the character out completely.  You better hope there’s someone around with the strength to drag you away.

Purple ~ Spirituality (rare);   Within twenty feet of a purple crystal, the person will feel an inner peace and calmness. Touching the crystal allows the character to transcend the physical realm and step into another person’s dream state.

Silver ~ Form shift (rare); Touching the crystal will immediately transform a persons outward appearance (e.g. aging, de-aging, sex change.  Or into another form entirely ~ animal forms only.  This will last for anywhere between 48 hours to one week, before the person returns to ‘normal’).

Gold ~ Realm jump (very rare); Touching the crystal will allow the person to jump past the gates of Heaven and enter the realm for one hour (one hour = one hour, no time differences.  Please check with a mod before ‘finding’ one of these crystals).

Black ~ Realm jump (very rare); Touching the crystal will allow the person to slip down into Hell and enter the realm for one hour (one hour = one hour, no time differences.  Please check with a mod before ‘finding’ one of these crystals).

[Any suggestions for other ‘types’ of crystals are welcome!]

A cluster of three red crystals and one large blue crystal appear in camp.  For in game purposes, every time a crystal is touched, the color fades a little until it is drained and becomes completely clear - this equates to approximately 5 uses per crystal.

Feel free to ‘encounter’ the common crystals as and when you like IC.  Just remember, you won’t know their active effects until you touch one!

Aethyrs - Character Assignment…[update]

[Just an update on the newly claimed Aethyrs!]

Okay, Orphans…. Voila!  An updated list of the Aethyrs list which we’ll be using for the Aethyr plot.  Each of these has a much longer description behind it with a lot of information that can be ‘translated’ in any way you wish.  Remember, each of the Aethyrs, when triggered should have a positive and negative effect on your character.  Any Aethyrs that are ‘doubled’ (two names with it) will require some kind of interaction between those characters to trigger it.  The effects on each person however, can be unique.

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

As the ground shifts violently under everyone’s feet, the survivors wonder what the hell is going on.  Obviously an earthquake, but for those unable to transport, the origin is unknown.  It’s quickly followed by several aftershocks, which are likely to continue to a lesser degree for a couple of days.  Already broken buildings are further damaged and it’s not long before massive black clouds are seen on the horizon.

The West Coast is suddenly lacking palm trees and golden beaches and has a landscape a little more reminiscent of the pit.  The San Andreas fault had finally given up the ghost.  Whether by interference or not was uncertain, but the simple fact remained, the Earth has cracked and is now spewing forth hundreds of tons of molten lava into the clear blue waters of the Pacific.  Thousands of gallons of water were vaporised, steam clouds collecting ash and dirt from hundreds of square miles of burning landmass.  The sky darkened and the prevailing winds started carrying the filth ridden clouds eastwards.

The sun barely breaches the overcast sky, enshrouding everything in a semi-gloom during the day, and pitch blackness at night.  Rain begins to fall, filthy and foul, contaminating the few precious water sources which remain.  The ground underfoot is sodden, the air, hot and humid, making already uncomfortable living conditions almost unbearable.

The flooding and burning of the coast pushes forth a new threat. The Croatoan virus, those infected, running from the dissolving toxic land mass. Those that weren’t killed are now fleeing with the animialistic instinct of survival.

Camp Chitaqua is right in the path of this new threat. The colony of survivors are now in more danger than they ever were. One wrong step and you could be taken down, or worse, turn into one of them. Keep your doors locked, make sure the front gate is sealed, and keep a watchful eye out for yourself and those around you.

This is a team effort. Keep your brethren alive.

Survive at any cost.

Crystals update…

A couple more suggestions for types of crystals (thank you Doctor);

Orange ~ Guilt;  Coming within about twenty feet of these crystals will cause that person to become burdened with guilt over their own failings/actions.  Touching the crystal itself will cause them to have a ‘flashback’, reliving those moments of failure all over again.

Pink ~ Truth;  Within thirty feet, the person in question will find themselves unable to lie.  Touching the crystal will compel them to tell only the truth for the next 24 hours.  No matter what…

Aethyr #22 ~ Activated

A tablet of 49 squares surrounded by a company of angels, some brilliant and flashing as gods, some elemental creatures; the squares of the tablet filled with changing letters in magical script. An angel proud and beautiful with pan-pipes.

The sky flashes vividly in a range of dazzling hues, Aurora Borealis this far south?  Not possible, but it happens none the less.  There’s a stirring in the air, nothing seems too out of place at first… and then a few subtle changes begin to become more noticeable…

Changing letters in magical script?  WTF?  Well, let me explain… This Aethyr is really just for a bit of fun over Christmas… [Crack aethyr, yey!]  The letters that are changed are subtle, but relate to the DNA of the characters.  

So, if you want to take part in this aethyr [which is completely optional BTW!] then you have a few options, [please note, none of these changes will be permanent and we’ll pick a point for the effects to wear off after the holidays];

  • Species change.  If you fancy trying your hand at vamping out or howling at the full moon, now’s your chance.  Or maybe you fancy being a spirit, popping up at inopportune moments.  Maybe you’re already ‘non-human’ and wouldn’t mind having a heartbeat for a change?  Whatever you are, then take your pick.  If you want to change to a species for which we have more than one type, please remember to specify which one [e.g. If you go for vamp, are you Supernatural, True Blood, or Vampire diaries based?].  This is gonna come with all the advantages and problems associated with your chosen species, so be ready to play out the good and the not so good… ;)
  • Sex change.  For those of you who’re content with species, perhaps the aethyr flips one of those X chromosomes to a Y, or vice versa.  You’ll still be you… Just with different ‘bits’… 
  • Age shift.  It’s all in the DNA… And this can effect you regardless of species.  So if you’re an ‘immortal’ - vampire, angel, etc.  Then your body could take on a suddenly different age… Perhaps Castiel becomes ‘teenage Jimmy Novak’.  Or Damon turns into a surly old fart? 

Please only pick ONE of the above to effect your character; species, sex, or age.  Also, if any of you are manifesting your own aethyrs, this will not interfere with that.  If your aethyr is ‘species linked’ then just add the new abilities to whatever is already going on.

This can happen whenever you want - mid para if you fancy a sudden change, or new paras, it’s entirely up to you…

Remember, this aethyr is optional and it’s just for a bit of fun… So knock yourselves out and enjoy!  Any questions, feel free to hit up the mod ask and we’ll be happy to help…

Okay Orphans!

Some of you are well on your way to triggering and manifesting your Aethyrs.

Now, a lot of these are going to come as a big surprise, so… Feel free to plot amongst yourselves to use whatever freaky powers you may come into, or play out the disadvantages to your hearts content…

However, to help us keep track of what’s going on, once your Aethyr has fully manifested and your character is using these powers/traits/abilities, then it would be great if you could write a quick ooc post to let other people know what’s happened to your character.

e.g. Eric could write…

Eric’s Aethyr was triggered by *********

His disadvantage is that he’s now reverted to a human state and has amnesia

His advantage is that he can *********

Obviously I’m not gonna give away spoilers!  And you don’t have to either, just once the effects are obvious in your paras, if you could pop a little post together (a couple of sentences will do!) and tag it woaethyr, then we can keep track of who has manifested, what’s happened and who is yet to go! (This knowledge is obviously OOC, your character won’t know until you encounter these things IC).

This will help us gauge the run up to Aethyr number 30 - end game!  Well, for the Aethyr plot anyway, there will be new plot/more chaos afterwards!

So just as soon as you think it’s appropriate, pop up your summary post and I can check you off the list!

New Players & Unassigned Players - Aethyr Plot

As you may or may not know, we have the Aethyr plot rumbling along in the background.  This post explains a little more about it, and the current character assignment list is available here.

Participation in this plot is optional, though it would be great if you all took part.  Any unassigned Aethyrs are going to manifest as in game events, so you can still join in the chaos that way if you wish!  You can also choose to pair up with another character to play out an Aethyr (e.g. Sam and Dean are both #7, Klaus and Elijah are number 12).

As ever - your mods are here to help with any suggestions as to how these things can kick off or talk through possible effects on your character!  Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it looks!

#15. A column of whirling scarlet fire with columns about it of green, blue, gold and silver inscribed with letters of the dagger alphabet; a fire playing about the columns transforms into the skirts of a dancer who weaves a crimson rose of 49 petals.

#19. A black web pierced with a ray of light, then a black cross spanned with an arch bearing letters in an alphabet made of symbols like daggers; an old man like the Hermit of the Tarot.

#20. A pool of clear golden water and the stars of the night sky; a peacock dissolving into clouds of white angels and archangels with trumpets; all gathering into a multi-coloured whirling wheel.

#21. A mighty wind and a sense of emptiness; shadows of great angels sweeping by with no sound; a glimpse of an avenue of pillars and a black marble throne supported by sphinxes.

#22. A tablet of 49 squares surrounded by a company of angels, some brilliant and flashing as gods, some elemental creatures; the squares of the tablet filled with changing letters in magical script. An angel proud and beautiful with pan-pipes.

#23. Three revolving lights; a spiders web with a star of twelve rays; a black bull pawing the ground, flames from his mouth, transforming into an Assyrian bull-man.

#25. The pale gold of the Rosy Cross; the aire is the dark olive of alexandrite; an angel on a white horse and another upon a black bull are devoured by a lion.
