Breaking News from my Hometown.
This morning (October 7, 2013) around 9:45, 16 year old Sarah Piccolo stabbed another student, Ellen Kopetzsky (17), at Lincoln Pius X High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. Piccolo then fled the scene of the stabbing, heading eastward in a gray 1992 Buick Park Avenue.
Earlier this afternoon, Ellen Kopetzsky entered surgery at a local hospital to treat multiple facial injuries as a result of the stabbing.
The Kopetzky family issued the following statement:
This morning our daughter Ellen Kopetzky was injured at Pius X High School. Ellen was taken for medical treatment, and is recovering with her family. We’re blessed by the outreach of friends in our community and across the country. Thank you for your prayers, your compassion, and your well-wishes. By God’s grace, Ellen will recover.
We ask you to join us in prayer for Sarah Piccolo and her family. We pray that she may be treated with respect and with mercy, and that our community will also support her family. The love of God can conquer all things.
Thank you for all that you have done for us. At this time, we ask that you respect the privacy of our family as Ellen recovers.

As the search for Sarah Piccolo began, police officers and SWAT teams began searching the school, room by room, looking for further evidence and accomplices. When examining the girls’ restroom (where the incident took place), a knife and a hammer were found, appearing to be the assault weapons.
Sarah Piccolo is described as 5’5”, 105 pounds, with brown hair. Police have been waiting anxiously outside of her home, on 70th and Dudley streets n Lincoln. When they first reached her home to issue a search warrant, nobody answered the door. Police chiefs and the local law enforcement are deliberating calling in the FBI, making this a nationwide manhunt for Miss Piccolo.
