Hello friends!! All week we’ll be wrapping up 2014 and then finishing with a preview of what to expect from Deathbomb Arc in the new year.

Part 5: Coming up in 2015

Part 3: The year in Signor Benedick The Moor
Okay, before we dive into all the amazing things SB did in 2014, I think everyone should see this:

That is a full page article on Signor Benedick The Moor that ran in The WIRE. When the year started we just had plans to release a limited run cassette by a new musician that was making mind blowing music. The fact he so quickly has reached recognition on this level is not just exciting, but reaffirming that good things still do happen for underdogs without huge bank behind them.

So what did Signor Benedick The Moor accomplish even without patrons sitting on piles of gold behind him? Well, he dropped 3 new albums and a reissue. True Neutral Crew, his band w/ Daveed of clipping., Margot of I.E., and me (Brian of Foot Village) dropped a mixtape. He toured with clipping. and then did a song with them, Open Mike Eagle, and Nocando. He did 2 music videos plus was a part of the True Neutral Crew short film. He also then did another tour as a headliner. Plus he did a song of the ‘EVIL’ compilation and did a collaborative track with members of Male Bonding (Sub Pop), tik///tik, & Foot Village under the name Stupid Future. Here are links for all of those in case you missed anything!

Stupid Future “50179" (on ‘Fireball Jungle vol1’ compilation)

Usually it is harsh noise dudes being this prolific. Signor B is hungry! and we, the listeners, are the ones that get to eat cuz of it. BTW, here is a cool rarity not a lot of people have seen. Signor Benedick The Moor performing “Work Work” w/ clipping. while on tour together:

It is also really flattering that a lot of music sites have been giving SB year end love. Impose Magazine named ‘Opus 3: Man Atop the Tower’ one of the best albums of the year (also appearing on the list is clipping. & True Neutral Crew). UK site Louder Than War has ‘El Negro’ in their best of the year list (again, clipping. & True Neutral Crew included too, glad folks love the fam). And since 3 points proves a line, Critical Masses chimes in with both SB and TNC too.

To everyone that has shown support to Signor Benedick The Moor this year, thank you so much!! I know that 2015 just holds even more fun and cool art! Get ready!!

  • If I Could Change Your Gun
  • Chvrches vs HAIM

Chvrches and Haim are two female singing acts that both got their big breaks in 2014 and now we get to see them both in this great mash up. They’re both two different styles in terms of singing but with If I Could Change Your Mind the upbeat backing music works extremely well with the lead singer of Chvrches quirky singing voice - Jakk

“It was like when you make a move in chess and just as you take your finger off the piece, you see the mistake you’ve made, and there’s this panic because you don’t know yet the scale of disaster you’ve left yourself open to.”
—Kazuo Ishiguro, Never Let Me Go

Omar as Achilles (x)

… Enough.
Let bygones be bygones. Done is done.
Despite my anguish I will beat it down,
the fury mounting inside me, down by force.
But now I’ll go and meet that murderer head-on,
that Hector who destroyed the dearest life I know.
For my own death, I’ll meet it freely — whenever Zeus
and the other deathless gods would like to bring it on!
