VOGUE: Meet the Seoul Style Mafia - Your Guide to the K-pop Stars in Chanel’s Front Row
Taeyang was mentioned as one of the five famous faces in Kpop that attended the Chanel Cruise Show in Seoul.
From a floating pink hanbok-inspired frock to the final bow with Soo Joo Park, it was a fully Korean affair at Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza, where Karl Lagerfeld brought his traveling Chanel resort collection this season. Among the regulars seated on the candy-colored stools in the front row—Kristen Stewart,Tilda Swinton—were a handful of K-pop stars, who created more red-carpet fuss than even a surprise Gisele spotting.
As former bandmates set to embark on a world reunion tour, Taeyang and G-Dragon are all but inseparable—think Tweedledee and Dum, as Dior Homme models. Taeyang tends to go a bit wilder in the hair and makeup department, but both favor the over-the-top, avant-garde style that made Big Bang an international K-pop sensation.
The Front-Row Look: A fire-engine-red duster coat with chain stitching, worn over a black V-neck tee and jeans slashed at the knees. Black and python ankle boots with pointed toes. Round blackout shades.
“This season I was inspired by images of Gucci-clad iconic women from the Fifties and Sixties, who interpreted Gucci during those years, but have reinterpreted their style through a Nineties lens,” said Frida Giannini.
