Punchbowl Falls - Hood River, Oregon. The two mile hike is worth it. When you first arrive at the falls, you think you have found Oregon’s best kept secret. On a busy day you can find people jumping off the cliff into the punchbowl.
The smoked bratwurst with cheese from Gartner’s Country Meat Market in Portland. Insanely delicious!!
These guys have been making sausage for fifty years and know what they are doing! No wonder everyone at Matt and Kelly Sue’s BBQ were so insistent I try them. Thanks to Greg Rucka for making sure I got one fresh off the grill!
Oh, and be warned, their jalapeno beer sausage packs quite a punch!!
With the day to day stresses in life, for me, Wilderness is a need. I need the sense of refreshment and re-centering that comes from getting lost, if only briefly, in the Wilderness on a near weekly basis. Memories from my last excursion and the excitement of my next adventure provide the daily escape I need to offset the hustle and bustle of today’s lifestyle. — Jim Beaupre,Outdoor Recreation Planner, Prineville District, BLM Oregon
BLM Oregon employees, local residents and visitors enjoy diverse and rugged wilderness areas managed by the BLM, like the Oregon Badlands Wilderness pictured here.
