Summer 2015: Friday, May 22nd

Summer could not have come any faster. I can’t believe that I have completed my first year at Chapman University and I am back home in San Diego. I finished my last exam on Thursday, May 21st and drove straight home to be with family. My mom begged me to come home right after my final but when I got there, no one was home! A great welcome back (haha). I got back to San Diego at 2 or 3PM and spent the rest of the day unpacking and relaxing. After a busy school year, it’s nice to go home and not worry about anything.

Here comes Friday…. My best friend, Alexis (pictured above) and I decided to hit up La Jolla for a nice smoothie breakfast. For all of my San Diego peeps, I hope y’all know about Nekter. It’s a cute little shop that has bomb smoothies, juice, and acai bowls. Alexis got the Pink Flamingo and I got the Orange Crush. Both were DELICIOUS! Our 16 oz. smoothies came out to be about $5. After sitting down for a little while, catching up, chatting, blah blah, we walked to the tide pools and tried catching a crab. We did not succeed, but we did have fun! It was nearing noon and we were starting to get hungry, so we decided to find a restaurant that we haven’t been to yet. A little Googling and thinking, we decided to go to La Dolce Vita. This cute little Italian restaurant is in a small alley in La Jolla shores. There is a great lunch menu and an even better full size menu. We decided to share a plate of fettuccine alfredo and a chicken sandwich. It was SO good. The meal came out to be about $17 per person. It was awesome!

Although Alexis and I talk all the time, it’s nice to be able to sit down with your best friend and be in each other’s presence. I missed my girl so much and I can’t wait for all of the other fun adventures we’re going to have this summer. SUMMER 2015 WOOHOO!
