Sources: You Can Play As A Woman In Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate

Almost a year after publisher Ubisoft made headlines for not including female protagonists in Assassin’s Creed Unity, today we’ve got news that there will be a playable woman assassin in the next entry of Ubisoft’s mega-series, according to two people familiar with the game.

This fall’s Assassin’s Creed, which will be officially announced tomorrow as Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, will give players access to two main characters: Jacob and Evie (pictured above in concept art leaked to Kotaku). They’re brother and sister, said a source, and they’ll be heavily involved in the criminal underworld of Victorian London, where the game is set. (We hear it’ll be out this fall for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.)

Star Wars Battlefront Trailer

–Looks amazing!

Okay, this is a little sketchy and I’m not going to say it’s 100% confirmed until it actually becomes 100% confirmed, but it’s still something that raises some serious concerns.

Apparently, last night at the San Francisco International Film Festival, acclaimed director/writer/producer Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), was asked about the status of Silent Hills, the upcoming title in the long running Silent Hill series from Konami. His answer to the question was, “It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart.”

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Can Be Completed Without Killing Anyone

The Deus Ex series has always allowed players to use stealth to complete the game without killing anyone, except bosses of course. In Deus Ex: Mankind Divided players can go through the game without killing anyone at all and the bosses are no exception.

Steam Work Shops

So apparently Valve decided to lose their minds and are now charging money for Mods on the Steam work shop. As you can imagine a lot of gamers are well…..pissed off about this and have already signed a petition to Valve to make mods free again on the Steam Work Shop. I did my part by signing the petition so if your a huge Gamer and have Steam then do your part as well. The petition is free and take’s not even a minute to sign. Help keep corporate bullshit out of the modding community.

Also do your part to spread the word about this and tell everyone you know with a Steam account to fight against Valve in this decision. Like and reblog to spread the word.

IGAVANIA Kickstarter - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

The Kickstarter

Koji Igarashi, the mind behind Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and its subsequent gothic horror companion games, left Konami about a year ago, as you all might remember. He is now Kickstarting a new game that will act as the spiritual successor to his own brand of Castlevania games, setting the funding goal to $500,000. As I am writing this, the Kickstarter has reached $100,000–and this is only the first day.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night will be a 2.5D sidescrolling exploration game that will include an RPG system similar to those in Igarashi’s Castlevania series. Also present will be a crafting system and, stretch goals willing, co-operative play with different playable characters.

The stretch goals, as they appear on the Kickstarter:

The creative team includes Michiru Yamane and Ippo Yamada on music, David Hayter (Solid Snake in the Metal Gear series) as part of the VA lineup, and the Inti Creates team on development. The project is being led in its entirety by Iga himself.

Thus far there is no gameplay footage available. The team had this to say of the topic (in the FAQ section of the Kickstarter):

THAT CONCEPT ART IMAGE LOOKS AWESOME – WILL THE GAME LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THAT?

“We love it, too, but at this point it’s only concept art—since building out the custom shaders that will define this game’s visual style will take some time, we can’t show you in-game screenshots just yet. What we can promise is that we’ll be talking to backers all through the development process, and showing them the progress we’re making. Using UE4 allows us a great deal of flexibility, and Inti Creates can’t wait to show you just what they can wring out of it.”

At this time, the game is looking at releases on PS4, XBOX One, and Steam. The team stated on the Kickstarter that they would rather focus on creating a complex and expansive game as opposed to getting it on as many systems as possible.

It’s worth mentioning that one of the reward tiers is turning your dog into an in-game monster. God damn.

What are you waiting for? Go donate! GO GO GO GO GO.
