Please. PLEASE.

Take a minute to back away from your own wants and needs, and reach out to those who might seem shy, quiet, different, ‘weird’, a ‘loner’, etc…. they may need a friend, may be dealing with things in their lives and have no one to talk about it with. One simple ‘hello’ could mean the whole world to them, and change a life. Strike up a convo, ask about something in common, tell them a joke, share some candy, something. You never know what is going on in other peoples lives, and the way they appear, act, shield themselves from others, might be a sign of something else. Be a friend, reach out.

and no this isn’t some photo of a cool new gadget, or fancy shirt/dress that everyone on tumblr will lust after, cute puppy, or whatever… but it should be reblogged way more than any of those because caring, love, and making a difference is WAY more important than any materialistic thing will ever be

This is where imagination meets heart, meets design. amazing.

Double leg amputee gets functioning mermaid tail to help her swim

"Auckland-born Nadia Vessey is a double leg amputee who lost her legs at a young age due to a medical condition. While removing her prosthetic limbs at a beach a few summers ago, a small boy asked her a series of “why” questions about her legs. Vessey responded with the explanation that she was a mermaid, just like the film ‘The Little Mermaid’. The boy ran off to tell his dad, but the idea stuck with her. She decided to email Weta and see if they could help build her a real, functioning mermaid tail to help her swim. Weta rose to the occasion…"

I’ve been inspired lately to eat RAW as much as I can. It takes a LOT of determination, but it’s so worth it. When you finish a meal, it feels like your body wants to hug itself for making good food choices. haha. Anyway, so I don’t have all the equipment to do it all the time, but it’s fun to experient on easy raw recipes, like this one I made up today.

RAW TACOS with mashed avocado, cilantro, spinach, snow peas, ground flax seed, carrots, cabbage, raisins, olive oil, braggs amino acids (like soy sauce but better), yellow curry powder, lettuce beds & chili pepper.

seriously believe me when I say it was a party in my mouth.

"If I knew then what I know now…"

There are many times where an opportunity arrives to do something, go somewhere, say something, speak your mind, show your talents, work your butt off, or even just DO something you’ve never done before. A lot of those moments we take for granted and pass on them for one reason or another. It can be anything… the risk taking a new job, going/skipping out on a get together/prom (this is a big one I know a lot of people pass on), not joining a club/group for fear of humiliation, not exploring your talents, not REALIZING that you can literally do anything you possibly want to do. Really, anything. You can. You just have to start first, & WORK. The thing is: You can never fail if you just never stop trying.

What I want to say is, don’t let those moments pass. Just because it may seem silly or embarrassing, difficult or too easy, pointless or too serious. Obviously, ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING on anything. But take life in. It goes by way too fast for us to not take full advantage of it. You don’t want to look back and regret, or have nothing to think back on besides day to day work, school, eat, sleep. Sometimes it’s the little things that matter the most. It’s as simple as letting yourself say “yes” instead of “no.” Whatever makes YOU happy, do it. As long as it’s a good thing and fun, and something different from the normal day in, day out… go with it. A challenge feels great. It makes you realize how important each minute, each hour, and each day really is.
