+++ Rise of the Bimmer, part III +++

1979 BMW 735i (E23), the first 7-Series.

Modesty wasn’t the flavor of the late ’70s, especially at Bavarian Motor Works in Munich, Germany. After launching the first-ever 3-, 5-, and 6-Series, in 1977 the huge first 7-Series was king of the hill and completed BMW’s portfolio.

Meanwhile in a Munich Synthesizer studio, Donna Summer and producer Giorgio Moroder created something that would later be referred to as the “Munich Sound”. The roar of a 735i also belongs to that genre.
