Hey guys! There are a lot of big music events going on today, as well as the BeltLine Lantern parade,the Drive-Invasion, and the start of Midtown Restaurant week!


The Atlanta BeltLine Lantern Parade is tonight at 7:30, featuring over 10,000 people walking the Beltline from Irwin/Dekalb to Piedmont Park with live music, lanterns, dancing, and more.

The 5Arts Fest is today from 12-9pm in Little Five Points, “a  Wonderland of Artistic Expression.”


Turner Field Green Lot (755 Hank Aaron Dr) is hosting the Official World Famous Drive Invasion today, with twelve bands, three drive-in movies (including Jaws), food trucks, cars, and the evnet is cooler & grill friendly, so you can bring your own BBQ food. $25 tickets.

Aaron’s Ampitheatre at Lakewood (2002 Lakewood Way) has Community Day at Lakewood Ampitheatre from 11-4pm today, featuring live entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses, and vendors. Free.

Weekend-Long Events

7 Stages Theatre (1105 Euclid Ave) opens their Curious Encounters Festival of Interactive Performance today,  as “Atlanta’s contemporary, ground-breaking artists and ensembles create original performances that play with the notion of interactive art.” Each night there will be six different performances, they start at 7pm today and repeat through Sunday. $20 at the door, $15/adv. Stone Mountain Park (1000 Robert E Lee Drive) has the Stone Mountain Yellow Daisy Festival all weekend long, a celebration of arts and crafts, featuring quilts, paintings, glass blowing, live performing, and food vendors. Runs through Sunday. $10 to park, free admission.

Food & Drink

Turner Field (755 Hank Aaron Dr) hosts the Great Atlanta Beer Fest today from 3-8pm, with over 200 beers, college football, live music, and games. Tickets are $50 at the gate.

Midtown Restaurant Week kicks off today with more than 40 participating restaurants offering menus priced at $15, $25, and $35.  Runs through next Sunday.



John Hodgeman is at Erikson Clock at 8pm, tickets are $25. Sold out.

Rich Shydner is at the Laughing Skull Lounge tonight, at 8 and 10:30, with repeat performances tomorrow. ~$20 admission.

Clayton English is at the Atlanta Improv Club tonight at 8 and 10:30. ~$25 admission.

Tammy Pescatelli is at The Punchline tonight at 6, 8 and 10, ~$20 admission.

Live Music


The Meltasia Music Festival is today through Sunday, a music festival with camping, art, and swimming! Highlights today include Black Lips, Gringo Star, Predator, GG King, and GHB. $125/three days.


The Goat Farm Arts Center presents A Night of Weird Music in Castleberry Hill, at Elliott Street Pub, featuring Chris Childs, Aalborg Group, Mans Trash, Polish Nails, and Guerilla Toss. NOT at the Goat Farm. 9pm, $6 cover.


Jortsfest 2014 is at Under the Couch today, starting at 4pm, a free, all-ages music festival, featuring music by 12 bands, including Surrogates, The Merry Go Rounds, Muuy Biien, and Sex BBQ, with headliners Shelf Life.
