Have fun Misfits!

I know everyone loves to hate Frozen these days, but that will never change how powerful this scene is. Anna obviously doesn’t realize that her sacrifice will count as an act of true love; as far as she knows, she is going to die if she saves her sister. And she stops to think about it. That’s what makes me love this scene. It’s so much more relatable, because who can really rush to their death even if it’s the right thing to do? What’s more, while she’s thinking and freezing inside-out, she’s looking at Kristoff…moments after finding out that he loves her. I’m sure that didn’t make the choice much easier. The hallmark heroic moments of most Disney films involve a lot of action and badassery. As much as I love that, the subtle and complex emotions that are all portrayed in this scene really make it stand out for me.

30 Day Challenge - Day 1, Favorite Character

“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would. You see?" Alice

Day 15: Favorite Hero Moment

Phil: I’m sorry kid, there’s somethings you just can’t change

⇝ Hercules: Yes, I can.

Honorable mentions: Prince Philip defeating Maleficent with the help of Flora, Fauna and Merryweather (Sleeping Beauty), Prince Eric defeating Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Simba walking up Pride Rock after the battle with Scar (The Lion King)

(If this wasn’t part of a challenge I’d say my favorite heroine is Mulan, but I’m saving her for later and don’t want to repeat.)

Anyway, I decided to go with Tiana for my favorite leading lady! She dreams big, works hard, stands up for herself, has a sense of humor, and is supportive of her friends. She’s also beautiful and has a bunch of gorgeous outfits despite spending most of her movie as a frog. :)

Day 7:

Favorite Male Villain: Judge Claude Frollo

He’s probably the most evil of all villains in Disney. His establishing character moment is the first gif: he’s about to drop a BABY down a well. Doesn’t get much more evil than that. His last words were quite ironic considering he died a typical Disney Villain Death.

Plus his Villain Song was pretty badass. Even though if one really pays attention to the lyrics, you’ll find out he’s lusting after Esmeralda and will burn her to death if she refuses him. He plays hardball.

Day 11: Most Overrated Underrated Character

Honorable mentions: Mrs. Potts (Beauty and the Beast), Hercules (Hercules), Mr. Smee (Peter Pan)

Note: I changed this from most overrated character to most underrated character because I truly believe that what is well praised deserves it - even when I don’t see it the same way as others do, and I honestly could not think of a single character that deserved that title!
