To 2416: Don’t you realize that your attitude is, unwitting, upholding the patriarchal/kyriarchal view that hard rock and heavy metal is only for cishet men. Personally, I need feminism so that I can listen to hard rock and heavy metal without being criticized for it and told that it’s “unladylike”. On that note, I tip my hat off to all the female performers of hard rock and heavy metal.
We had just kicked off a fabulous European vacation, we had a great day seeing the London Eye. But then came the evening. We were at a nice pub in the neighborhood of South Kensington. It was the last place where you would think any criminal activity would occur. We had a pretty good meal of fish and chips, a British favorite. In the middle of dinner, I said, “wheres my purse?” We searched and searched but we couldn’t find it. We realized it had been stolen. It had all of our money and credit cards in it, which was pretty bad, but what was the big deal was that my notebook was in there. The whole reason we took this trip was so I could interview people in the UK. The trip was part buisness trip part vacation. I had finished all of the interviewing and all of my answers were in that notebook! All of my work was stolen. Worst of all, the pub didn’t do anything about the problem either. They didn’t even look at the CCTV cameras! We came home and went to sleep. Later that night, my son started vomiting all over the floor! He was violently ill and he suspected it was the fish and chips. The smell was unbearable. Although I feel bad for everyone in my family, the person who I felt the worst for was the hotel maid. This picture is of my kids before the vomiting/purse fiasco.
