"The clean sweep seemed to recognise the entirety of the journey that so many millions had shared with us. As much as I do not like other artists to lose or be made to feel that they are losers, I was glad that our team had won all of those trophies that night."

Viggo Mortensen on RotK sweeping the Oscars in 2004

Hi, everyone! I know I posted last month about being more sporadic than usual due to offline stuff and computer issues. Unfortunately, although my laptop is functioning pretty well as a desktop, I’ve hit crunch time with my major offline responsibilities and will be very, very busy for the next month and a half or so. I’ll try to stick things in the queue as I can, but it’s pretty low right now so you’ll just get whatever I have time for, sorry.

For the LotR folks: Thanks for being patient! I will get back to posting RotK quotes when I can, but it probably won’t be for a bit. On the plus side, you all know about endurance (took over a decade to get The Hobbit movies off the ground, for better or worse), so this should be nothing. ;)

For those I’ve been talking with a lot: Sorry, will be quieter than usual but will still be thinking and praying for you all. *hugs* I’ll still be checking in, so please feel free to send messages or updates or just talk as you need to. :)

For the AoS people: Woohoo, you’ve almost made it to Season Two! Way to go, you’ve made it through the hiatus! From that perspective, my break won’t be very long. ;)

For everyone: Take care! :) Feel free to send me asks just to say hi or comment on something or whatever; I’m really hoping to get to know some of you all better when I get back on regularly. And hopefully it won’t be too long. :)

I’m thinking again about rotk film and things that disturb me and

we see orcs being wiped by their squad captains in it on their way to battle. I don’t know about you, but when I see someone has to be hurt to do something, I tend to assume that it means they don’t want to do it.

In the book, we even get orcs talking about deserting and how this whole war is shit (if I remember sell) and they’d be better off on their own

look, these are people who hate Sauron as much as the “free people” do. And yes, they are cruel, but they have been raised and trained to… it they can have free thoughts, then they can change

So tell me exactly how I am suppose to rejoice when I see them all wiped out in an earthquake that only kills them after Frodo destroys the ring?

Why I love Recess, especially Miss Grotke

Images 1, 7, 8: she’s a feminist

Image 5: notice how she’s talking about endangered species and on the wall, there is a poster of Earth Day

Image 6: she’s aware of and against white supremacy and eurocentrism

Images 2, 3, 4, 6: history teachers are technically not allowed to give their opinion they’re just supposed to teach what’s in the books, but she doesn’t care and makes sure her students know it

Black and white version here [x]

I would rather spend one lifetime with you than face all the Ages of this world alone
