It is I, owl city the great and powerful. I have completed a long journey to the island country known as Japan to consume mass quantities of delicious edible material, engage in many hours of suspension of consciousness while in comfortable hotel sleeping furniture and also to perform the musics of the electronic variety

It may not look like it but, you are looking at a girl who weighs 320 pounds. I took this nude picture because I felt fucking gorgeous.

My name is CT and I live in Texas. I have started my weight loss journey once again. I am not losing weight to be part of society’s mold to what is beautiful but because I want to be healthy.

I love the body positivity movement and I am so glad that so many women are part of it. Although I am trying to lose weight, I feel as though body positivity it part of the process.

fact: in creating a project of any great length, you lose at least some of your capacity for enjoying the end result—or, at the very least, seeing it with new eyes.  so enjoy every milestone on the journey instead!  that’s the unique experience only you’ll get, and it’s up to everyone else to enjoy the final product as something new and whole. uvu

With less than a week left, I decided some last-minute reminiscing was in order.

Holy Athena, these three have grown so much!!! Re-reading Lost Hero is 100x more awesome and 100x harder because you see just how far they’ve come. They grown together, they suffered together and now they’re going to finish this journey together.

I feel the helicopter scene in Lost Hero is a really great example of their growth (especially for LH). It showed how strong Leo and Piper’s bond had grown and how much Piper and Leo had grown as individuals. Leo was becoming more rooted, less flighty, Piper was becoming stronger and more assured. They still had a long way to go from their, but they sure as hell had come a long way from the Wilderness School days.

And in 6 days *sob* we’re gonna see them reach their journey’s end.

First trailer for Syfy’s Ascension, with Tricia Helfer, Brian Van Holt, Brandon P. Bell, Andrea Roth, Tiffany Lonsdale, Ryan Robbins, Jacqueline Byers, P.J. Boudousqué and Gil Bellows.

Ascension is inspired by the real-life Project Orion that existed under the administration of President John F. Kennedy. The show sets up an alternate version of reality in which, in 1963, President Kennedy and the U.S. government, fearing the Cold War will become hot and lead to the destruction of the Earth, decided to launch a covert space mission. They sent 600 men, women and children into space on a century-long voyage aboard the Ascension, a massive, self-sustaining generation ship. Their mission is to populate a new world, known as Proxima, assuring the survival of the human race. Nearly 50 years into the journey (i.e. in the present), as they approach the point of no return, the mysterious murder of a young woman — the first homicide since their departure — causes the ship’s crew to question the true nature of their mission.

NFG’s “It’s Not Your Fault” v 1D’s “Steal My Girl” v Journey’s “Faithfully”

Some poor soul put together a YouTube video of New Found Glory’s “It’s Not Your Fault” side by side, and then during, One Direction’s “Steal My Girl.” And just cause that’s not enough, there’s also a video of Journey’s “Faithfully” so you can actually see where New Found Glory stole their riff from first!

Chapter Eight

The nickname “The Granite City” struck Rae as ill-fitting, but undoubtedly true about Aberdeen. It conjured images of cold, stoic fortresses in her mind, but those are the last words she would ever use to describe the town. The granite used to construct most of the buildings in the central city subtly sparkled in afternoon sunlight, creating a unique warmth that made everything seem magical at times. She and Finn hired a car, taking leisurely trips to different sections of Aberdeen, shopping, laughing and enjoying time outside of their normal routine in London. Archie, Brian and Emerson went about their daily routines away from the house, the couple spending early mornings and evenings with them.

The Magical Fix-It Bullet for Faith: 8-Minute Abs for Your Spiritual Life

I wish I could fix your faith with a single surgical Bible verse or the perfect mix of eloquent argumentation. I wish there was a 12-point diagram or a three-point sermon or an eight-minute program that could get your faith in shape, for the low-low price of Jesus’ grinning thumbs up.

When someone tells me to “Just cheer up” or “Be positive” or “Believe,” there’s nothing in me that doesn’t want to flip a switch and charge up my faith-meter. To tell me that I need to “just just just” is not as easy as a pat on the back of praying away your problems.

Faith isn’t a light switch. It’s a journey.

And that means it takes more than one epiphany. It’s more than one sit-down over coffee. It’s more than any one sermon or blog post or book or Sunday service. Certainly there are life-changing moments in each of these things; but faith is more of a woven tapestry knit by all these unique interlocking fabrics that paint a larger mosaic in the end, and no one can rush this with a magic formula. There’s no 800 number to grow a seed.

No one has the patience for this. It’s not natural to let things grow in their own pacing. We so badly want it now. We want the pain and doubts and frustrations to pass quickly; so we forget, this is all part of the journey too, and it’s all the deepest part of who we become.

Without growing pains, we only end up shallow and misinformed. Without pushing through the initial illusions of an easy faith do we begin to arrive at the rich vibrancy of a faith that bleeds and breathes.

Often I’ll hear a desperate plea for a rock-bottom dry spell of doubt or a prodigal friend going off the deep end. Most of the time, I really have no idea what to say.

Let’s say I did convince you back into faith. Let’s say I did convince your prodigal friend that their lifestyle would only kill them. Let’s say my voice happened to be louder than your doubts.

See: Forcing and coercion and persuasion only prop up a puppet; there is no life in a block of wood. I would only be whispering over a graveyard. You’d be persuaded only until something else could persuade you right out of it. When the spell of my eloquence would end, so would your puppet strings be cut.

I don’t want to do this to you. I don’t want to appeal to your propensity for a quick easy fix. I would rather teach you how to think than what to think. Because it’s only after you’ve tasted the truth for yourself could you ever fully decide to clamp down upon the meat and digest. Everyone needs to climb their own mountain, or else you shortcut the depth of your own convictions. My role is only to get out of the way and point. Our role isn’t to digest the food for each other.

If it were this easy, it wouldn’t be God who is working but only the clenching of my teeth. Who really wants the quick, pat cliche? Who wants the solution that wasn’t born out of sweat and catharsis? That won’t last past Tuesday. We need blooming and not a bullet.

It is right to ask for wisdom and help and advice. It is right to ask others about their own stories, their own troubles and trials. Yet at some point, we turn our eyes back to the road on Him, where we can pour out our confusion and questions and doubts; and He will give us grace and growth. He will breathe life into our hearts of stone, one breath at a time.
