The Boxer Hockey archives are finally back online at http://www.boxerhockey.com !  Even though now they’re just re-directing a a new Tumblr site, I felt like this was a good solution for now.  Over the next few weeks I’ll be tagging and indexing all the strips to make them easily searchable, hopefully that will make up for the lack of a drop-down index.
I’ll also be adding all the one-off gag and holiday strips into their own archive later, but for now I just wanted to get the main storyline posted.  Enjoy!

Im away on holiday from the 22nd until the 30th so all emails will be answered when I’m back thank you 🙏 hudsontattoo@live.com

A Woodland Chandelier

As our plans for entertaining move back indoors this autumn, we’ve found a simple way to refresh our décor— a DIY chandelier made from our classic twig lights. Inspired by branches in the fall forest as leaves disappear, this eye-catching fixture is lightweight and easy to move around the house for a touch of sparkle wherever it goes. We think it makes an especially nice addition above the table at dinner parties. Surprisingly straightforward to create and even easier to personalize, this twinkling display will make a welcome sight in your home from fall throughout the holiday season.

What you’ll need

Twig lights (we used 5 bunches)
Bind wire
Power source

1. Bunch your twig lights together and fasten the upper stems into one, larger stem using bind wire. You may choose to stagger the heights of the stems to create a longer, narrower chandelier.

2. Add additional fastenings at intervals along the upper stems to make sure the chandelier is secure.

3. Shape your twigs as desired. We left ours straight for a natural look, but you could create a more whimsical fixture by twisting individual stems.

4. Fasten the power cords into a single bundle to minimize their appearance.

5. Suspend within reach of a power source and enjoy a gathering under the stars.

“I’ve been told that nobody sings the word ‘hunger’ like I do. Or the word ‘love.’ Maybe I remember what those words are all about. Maybe I’m proud enough to want to remember Baltimore and Welfare Island, the Catholic institution and the Jefferson Market Court, the sheriff in front of our place in Harlem and the towns from coast to coast where I got my lumps and scars, Philly and Alderson, Hollywood and San Francisco, every damn bit of it.

All the Cadillacs and minks in the world – and I’ve had a few – can’t make it up or make me forget it. All I’ve learned in all those places from all those people is wrapped up in those two words. You’ve got to have something to eat and a little love in your life before you can hold still for any damn body’s sermon on how to behave. Everything I am and everything I want out of life goes smack back to that.”

Billie Holiday, 1958

There was this lady who came into my job a few hours ago and she had crazy white hair that stuck up in every direction and she was buying an incredible amount of Halloween decorations and we had a long conversation about how Halloween was her favorite holiday while i rang her up. She was so good I loved her

"I mean, what’s thoughtful is everything you do. Here, you know what? Look at this. Look, here’s the, the plane ticket you bought me when I was too poor to go home for the holidays. And the rose you left on my windshield just because. Here’s the, the thank you letter you wrote me after the first time I slept with you. All 11 pages of it."

"I can’t believe you saved all this stuff."

"Of course I did. It’s you.”
