This Saturday, October 4th, there’s a great class happening at Bedford Cheese Shop’s Manhattan location, led by one of France’s top affineurs, Rodolphe Le Meunier:
The Art of the Cheeseplate with Rodolphe le Meunier
Saturday, October 4th, 6pm
World-renowned French affineur (aka, cheese ager) Rodolphe le Meunier will be visiting the Homestead to spotlight the essential elements of a French cheeseplate. Meunier has years of expertise (he is a fifth generation cheese professional) and the highest honors given within profession by the French government. He’ll review the history of French cheese prodution as well as the newest trends in dairy production while tasting through the myriad (and delicious!) aspects of putting together a cheese plate.

(Note: Le Meunier is the man responsible for bringing the Couronne de Touraine to America, which was the inspiration for my own couronne-shaped experiments. I first tasted it a few years ago in Strasbourg, France, at the Cloche A Fromage restaurant.)
