Skye’s been singing her songs across crappy Texas bars for long enough to be sick of the entire scene.  After sending out demo after demo and getting no response, she’s taking matters a step further.  It may take a little doing, but she manages to convince music exec Phil Coulson to put her as Grant Ward’s opening act.

It’s the break she’s been looking for, but one there’s one small hitch: Grant absolutely does not want her as his opening.  He’s almost positive it’s going to be impossible to be taken seriously as an alternative artist if he’s got some… country music girl opening for him.

Which is super unfair, by the way.  Skye’s like, half country and half alternative. Grant’s just too fixated on the fact that she sometimes performs in a pair of cowboy boots to take her seriously.  She’s from Texas, for eff’s sake! What the hell else is she supposed to wear when she’s performing?

And for the record, she’s not actually all that thrilled to be opening once she actually meets Grant.  Maybe she’d like him if he took himself and his art less seriously, but that doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon.

Here’s the kicker: if they mess this up, they can kiss their music careers goodbye.  They need this tour to do well, because neither one of them happen to be superstars.  So they better get their acts together, both on and off the stage.  And maybe become friends on the way.  Or maybe more than friends?

If they’re lucky, Skye might even learn how to play the guitar.
