I remember taking photos of Typecast before, not during performance, but a quick portrait of the band. Sadly, they were just a trio, since their bass player couldn’t make it. It was supposed to be used for an article, but now I think I can try an attempt another portrait in the future.
I remember my first memory of Typecast many years ago, I don’t remember which one of them commented on Francis’ photo (which was then in his myspace profile) with Chris Wolstenholme of MUSE. It was quite overexposed and I read a comment that it was a fake. Of course, being the rabid MUSE fan that I am, sternly corrected the comment and began my sentence with, “HEY TYPECAST DUDE….” LOL. I didn’t read much into it that he was JUST KIDDING!
I’m so sorry and I think I’ve apologized after, I’ve had my fair share of trolling. HAHAHA. I was a very uptight MUSE fan.
Now I’ve indirectly worked with Melvin having also worked in Pulp Magazine and Steve now is my neighbor in Sims Social. Oh the way the world works! Hahaha.
For this event, I arrived in the middle of Typecast’s set. I was stuck outside Araneta waiting for some things to be fixed. Logistical concerns of course are the most important aspect of any event. I tried my best to take photos with the remaining time I had. Mrs. De Guia of Ovation Productions was so so so kind enough to escort us personally in. She’s such an angel!
Local front acts are important, because it’s a reminder for us watching foreign acts that we are Filipino and we have awesome musicians that we can be proud of, too.
Let’s not forget our roots. I’m very proud of Typecast with everything they’ve achieved with all the great stories of them I’ve heard in the whole Southeast Asian region.
Oh and I just found out TYPECAST has TUMBLR!!!
