Repent
To those that know me personally, I’m not exactly a religious fanatic, quite the opposite.
However,
I went to church on Sunday with a girl i know from work [:3],
We walked in rather late but noone seemed to mind, I was actually quite relieved I did not burst into flames. We sat down behind the front row, and almost immediately the choir began to screech and utter the words to ‘Amazing Grace’.
I’m sorry, I know this song is symbolic and very religous to those of you that believe in the almighty god, but I found this so sweetly generic, and such a pathetic attempt at it, that I almost cried from the amount of pain I was enduring While I held back my laughter.
Now, If this was not enough to start my experience out on a high, the black woman that was singing lead vocals then begun a huge rant about how Christ is great and Christ is forgiving, and to him, we owe our lives.
This belief of Jesus being the almighty saviour and forgiver of my sins is somewhat bewilldering to me. The Christian faith so enthusiastically proclaim that there is no forgiveness for sinners and that in the Book of Revelation, all of us non-believers and sinners shall suffer a torture that is equal to our sins.
This is a pathetic claim of ‘forgiveness’… Torturing you for your for forgiveness, is rather a stupid idea. Personally my idea of forgiveness is accepting someone despite the bad things they have done, without making them pay a debt.
God is proclaimed to be the almighty being of good and light, how can he be so easily able to label us sinners? Shouldn’t he/she (whatever you believe) forgive and forget and be willing to embrace us in his kingdom if we repent?
As far as religion goes on an ‘Apocalyptic’ theme, the book of revelations makes it very clear that most, if not all, people on earth shall be judged by their deeds on earth. Those who come up clean, shall bask in the radiance of heaven for eternity, those who showed some individuality, shall burn in hell forever.
Forgiveness? Judgement?
Ouch, looks like I’m going to hell.
This is only part of my personal view on religion. I may be wrong, I may be right?
But who knows?
You can’t even prove that this almighty being actually exists?.
Oh and anyone that was offended by this rant, get over it.
(i can already see James’ pathetic attempt at an arguement)
This is only my first part, a knock at my door has interrupted me, so i shall leave you.
