Real events don’t have endings,
Only the stories about them do.

This is my favorite book.
Because of this book, I want to change my life, a lot. If you are looking for inspiration to do something, read this. If you are looking for an entertaining read, read this. If you are looking for a passionate read, read this. If you are looking for something at all, read this.
Color signatures of novels’ visual content by Jaz Parkinson. More. Looks like it may be possible to order prints, and even make requests!
(I just finished reading The Road and I can’t believe there is even THAT much color.)
These are my colour signatures, an ongoing collection which are basically graphs of all the visual content in the books. For example when it might say ‘yellow brick road,’ ‘yellow’ gets a tally, or when for example in The Road it says ‘dark ash covered everything’ (not an actual quote), that image evokes dark grey instantly in the mind, so dark grey gets a tally. They are then ordered into a spectrum and drawn up, so the result is a surprise to me until it is done. I was shocked at The Road as well! A lot of the colour is fire, and when they finally find some food the book describes ‘juicy glistening peaches,’ which is so visual after pages and pages of grey.
A2 Prints on gorgeous enhanced matte are available, and I am more than willing to take a request to add to the collection.
Thanks for all your support! Love you guys.

Those who are restless in their old homes, and seek to better their condition, will find greater advantages in Colorado than anywhere else in the west….The climate possesses peculiar charms for those in failing health, and invalids can find here a sure panacea for nearly every human ill. The poor should come to Colorado, because here they can by industry and frugality better their condition. The rich should come here, because they can more advantageously invest their means than in any other new region. The young should come here to get an early start on the road to wealth, and the old should come to get a new lease on life, and to enjoy their declining years in a country unequaled for its natural beauty and loveliness. In short, it is the Mecca for all classes and conditions, and we thoughtfully recommend it to the thoughtful examination of the public.

Monument To Aviation by Raimund Abraham, 1979
(via Archaeology of the Future: 1979 VISIONARY Aviation Memorial Competition Melbourne [Raimund Abraham])
As it happens, this just washed up on my dashboard. Raimund Abraham educated many years of students at the Cooper Union School of Architecture.
He passed away recently, and was spared the vision of the peculiar crash that was his home, Cooper Union.
Unlike any other spectacular crash, there is no black box and no investigation. And unlike any other spectacular crash, it’s not just the bodies on the ground: the casualties carry on endlessly into the future.
Monument to Aviation, Raimund Abraham. Thanks for that and for everything else.
