Drunk LANs. I think back with much fondness on the Super LANs we used to have. About a dozen people from my WoW guild would get together IRL, bring the PCs, and get wasted and play video games all weekend. As we got older (and over 21) it became just us getting together and going to the bars or boating or something. Our biggest Super LAN was about 30 people.

Back during BC, at our very first big Super LAN, we all queued AV together and basically turtled at Stonehearth Bunker/Graveyard. We held the Horde forces there, which meant that they kept spawning at closer to their own base, and then the rest of the Alliance couldn’t kill Drek…that is, until we decided it was time to win. Such memories.

Or the next big one, where I was almost crushed by a keg because Brian let go of his end as we were going down the stairs and I couldn’t stop it (I had the bottom end. The stairs were carpet and I had socks on.). That same LAN we were so inebriated that we couldn’t kill the first boss in Kara. Granted, that was partially my doing, since I’d run and pull more horse packs while we were still fighting another pack. 

I miss the old days of WoW. I miss raiding and playing games with my friends. Gaming these days just isn’t what it was. Even WoW has changed so much to where it’s not as fun. 

Ah well. So it goes, I suppose.

As much a man of science as I am, I do really wish all this paranormal/supernatural stuff were real. *sigh*
