This is my first tattoo. I got “courage” written on my wrist for a couple reasons.
In December I was sexually assaulted. I was having a hard time wanting to go the police because I was afraid of what my friends and family would think. After I found out that I was not the only girl he had done this to, I knew I had to be strong and stop this chain. While in a lobby waiting for the detective to interview me, I saw a sign above me that said “Have courage.” and I told him my story. Because of my bravery, two other girls have came to the police with their stories.
My first court date against my rapist is in less then a week, and I’m no longer afraid of him.
