Disney animator Heidi Gilbert recently put together this original animatic based on the Wicked musical in an attempt to see about having it done as an animated movie.

I think the biggest problem with Wicked is just that nothing in the second act can compare with how great Defying Gravity is.

If they’re not going to do a live-action movie (which I still don’t understand why they haven’t) then an animated film would be a great alternative. I mean, it’s EASY money. Especially with this Great and Powerful Oz thing coming out.

Oh please, for the love of all the is holy, make this musical into an animated feature film. I’m not into it being live-action so much because I feel the casting choices for this are too risky. Not to mention, I’m not into having another fully CGI film. If they could cast it diligently and actually build a lot of the sets, and really invest a lot of money into the design of the movie, I’d be more willing to accept it, but, as of now, it NEEDS to be made as an animated movie, it’d be wonderful.
