America in Color, photos from 1939 - 1943 is a trip back into a rural past of a post depression America. Some of the settings evoke a familiarity with the context that we’ve already seen in that time, but seeing it in color gives it somewhat of a concrete tangibility. Some of the photos are daunting and I simply love the lettering showcased in some of the windows in those rural communities.
These are captured moments of roughly 69 years ago. Seems such a world apart doesn’t it? Such a visual delight.
Amazing, captivating video of Steve Jobs and the early days at NeXT. Lots of notable things here, including a cameo by Paul Rand to unveil the new logo. Amazing how Steve runs the brainstorm. And features Jobs picking carrots in his garden in a starched white button down (okay, that might have been a bit much).
Also, a reminder that he didn’t always have an impeccable personal style — took him some time to work through his suspenders phase — so gives us all hope in developing our own personal style over time. :-)
